The project is funded by Stichting Oxfam NOVIB, a Netherlands-based organization, and implemented by the Hanoi Association of Persons with Disabilities.
The project aims to strengthen the capacity of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Vietnam so they can participate meaningfully in water resource governance and climate change adaptation efforts. Through this, the initiative will contribute to the broader outcomes of the Water Governance Program in Vietnam.
Project Outcomes
Around 40 persons with disabilities will receive training to improve their knowledge and capacity on integrating disability inclusion into water resource governance and climate change adaptation.
About 40 women with disabilities will participate in at least three workshops and information exchange programs, sharing experiences and practices that support women with disabilities and persons with disabilities in general.
At least three communication products on disability inclusion in water resource governance and climate change adaptation will be developed and shared with communities and relevant stakeholders, including a photo storytelling contest.
In addition, one full report and one summary report assessing the impact of climate change on the livelihoods of women with disabilities will be completed and shared with relevant agencies and organizations.
Approximately 1,000 people, including persons with disabilities and members of the community, will access the project's activities and communication products, helping improve public understanding of disability-related issues. The project will run from the date of approval until December 31, 2028, with a total budget of VND1.5 billion (US$58,800), provided as non-refundable grant aid.
The Hanoi Association of Persons with Disabilities is responsible for the accuracy and legal compliance of the project's aid reception dossier. The association will receive and direct the implementation of the project in line with its assigned functions and responsibilities, ensuring quality, effectiveness, safety, and proper targeting of beneficiaries.
In order to ensure political security and social order in the locality while complying with the regulations of the State and the city, the organization will be held accountable for any losses, waste, corruption, or violations related to project management and implementation within its authority.
