Delivering congratulatory remarks to the recipients, General Secretary and State President To Lam respectfully extended warm greetings, deep gratitude and heartfelt congratulations to the veteran Party members.

General Secretary and State President To Lam delivers commemorative flowers to Major General Nguyen Tu.
Seventy, 75 and 80 years of Party membership represent an extraordinarily long journey spanning nearly every major turning point of Vietnam's revolution, from the struggle for national liberation to national construction, defense, reform and international integration.
Emotionally addressing the ceremony, Lam noted that among those receiving Party badges this time were people who directly participated in wartime service and combat, those who matured through Party and State agencies, armed forces, mass organizations and grassroots institutions and others who quietly devoted their lives in humble yet honorable positions.
No matter where they served or what roles they held, they all shared one deeply admirable quality: absolute loyalty to the Party, the nation and the people; consistently placing collective interests above personal interests; and preserving the integrity, honor and character of Communist Party members.
Although each person's position, work and circumstances differed, their ideals remained united in serving the nation and the people.
"These are the values that make the Party badge truly noble. The badge is not only worn on one's chest or framed on a wall. More importantly, it is engraved in the heart of the Party and the people as a symbol of trust, ideals, dedication and exemplary responsibility," General Secretary and State President To Lam emphasized.
He shared that looking at veteran Party members helps people understand more deeply that the Party's strength lies not only in correct policies, strong organization and strict discipline.
That strength, above all, comes from individual Communists themselves, from the character, courage, morality, lifestyle and exemplary conduct of every cadre and Party member.
General Secretary and State President To Lam speaks at the ceremony.
A Party that seeks to lead the people must be worthy of the people's trust. A Party member who wants to persuade and mobilize the public must first live honestly, match words with actions and place themselves under Party discipline and public supervision.
A generation of officials entrusted with national responsibilities must know how to honor revolutionary history, respect previous generations and reflect upon exemplary role models to improve and strengthen themselves.
General Secretary and State President To Lam said the lives of veteran Party members remind society of a simple yet profound truth: a Communist Party member does not live only for themselves.
A Party member must live with ideals and responsibility toward the Party, the nation and the people; place collective interests first; remain humble, clean and responsible, especially when holding high office; and exercise greater self-discipline, ethics and accountability when possessing greater power.
According to the General Secretary and State President, this is an especially important lesson during the current period as Vietnam enters a new era of development filled with major opportunities, high demands and significant challenges.
"We are implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress; continuing to streamline and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organizational system; accelerating institutional reform, scientific and technological development and digital transformation; building an independent and self-reliant economy with deep international integration; maintaining political stability; strengthening national defense and security; firmly protecting the nation; and improving people's living standards," he said.
Lam stressed that to accomplish such major goals, the Party must remain truly clean and strong. The State must genuinely belong to the people, be built by the people and serve the people. Party members must truly lead by example.
All policies and guidelines must emerge from real life and the legitimate aspirations of the people. Every action must aim toward the ultimate goal of a prosperous nation and a population living in warmth, freedom and happiness.
Hanoi Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang speaks at the ceremony.
"Throughout this journey, the revolutionary tradition of veteran Party members remains an invaluable source of spiritual strength. It is not only history for us to take pride in but also a foundation for action. It is not only a legacy to cherish but also a standard for today's cadres and Party members to reflect upon, improve themselves and strengthen their responsibility toward the Party and the people," Lam said.
General Secretary and State President To Lam noted that during the May 19 Party badge recognition round, the Hanoi Party Committee honored 8,511 Party members, including many with more than 70 years of Party membership.
This is a tremendous source of pride for Hanoi's Party organization. Yet pride always comes with responsibility. The greater the honor, the greater the responsibility.
Hanoi's responsibility is to ensure the revolutionary tradition continues shining within every Party organization, agency, neighborhood and cadre so that residents can feel the Party close to them, listening to them, understanding them and acting for their lives.
Hanoi must take the lead in building a clean and strong Party and political system; pioneering innovation, digital transformation and modern urban governance; advancing cultural development and building elegant and civilized citizens; maintaining discipline and the rule of law; improving people's lives; and fostering social trust and consensus.
General Secretary and State President To Lam expressed hope that veteran Party members would continue maintaining their health, promoting their prestige, wisdom, experience and revolutionary spirit, remaining a trusted source of moral support for Party committees, authorities and the people, while continuing to contribute opinions on Party and government building and educating younger generations about revolutionary traditions.
"Every exemplary lifestyle within families and neighborhoods becomes a persuasive model that spreads positive values in daily life. Every steadfast, transparent and responsible attitude demonstrated by veteran Party members strengthens trust, preserves unity and reinforces the political foundation at the grassroots level," he said.
General Secretary and State President To Lam also requested the Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and socio-political organizations of Hanoi to continue paying close attention to the material and spiritual lives of elderly Party members.
The city should regularly visit, listen to and respectfully absorb their heartfelt and responsible opinions. This is not only an expression of affection but also a political and moral responsibility of Hanoi's Party organization.
"Every Party badge awarded today reminds us that the Party grew from the people, fought for the people, sacrificed for the people and continues reforming and developing for the people," Lam said.
"Every cadre and Party member today must live, work and contribute in ways worthy of the Party's glorious history, the sacrifices of previous generations and the trust and expectations of the people," General Secretary and State President To Lam emphasized.
Speaking at the ceremony, Hanoi Party Secretary Tran Duc Thang said that on the occasion of the 136th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth, the Party organization, government and people of Hanoi were honored to welcome General Secretary and State President To Lam and central leaders to attend and personally present Party badges to exemplary veteran Party members.
He described the event as carrying profound political and humanitarian significance for Hanoi's Party organization and its cadres and members.
On behalf of the Hanoi Party Committee's Executive Board, Party members, officials and residents of the capital, Thang respectfully expressed sincere gratitude and best wishes to the General Secretary and State President To Lam and central leaders.
He also extended heartfelt congratulations to the 8,511 Party members honored during the May 19 recognition round.
In particular, Thang expressed deep gratitude and respect toward Party members receiving badges for 70 years of Party membership or more, including the exemplary veteran members attending the ceremony.
The Hanoi Party Secretary said the Party organization, government and people of the capital deeply appreciate the affection, special attention and important comprehensive guidance provided by General Secretary and State President To Lam.
He noted that the guidance from General Secretary and State President To Lam has placed very high political requirements and responsibilities upon Hanoi's Party organization, government and people.
Thang emphasized that the Party organization, government and people of Hanoi always remain deeply grateful for the contributions, sacrifices and enduring dedication made by veteran Party members to the revolutionary cause of the Party, the nation and the capital.
At the same time, the city is proud to inherit the achievements and values cultivated by previous generations.
Thang expressed hope that veteran Party members, through their prestige, experience and sense of responsibility, would continue inspiring revolutionary traditions, confidence, determination and valuable experience among current and future generations of cadres and Party members.
He expressed confidence that with strong political determination, public trust and responsibility toward the Party and the people, Hanoi's Party organization will continue promoting solidarity, innovation and creativity while strongly inspiring aspirations for development and building an increasingly cultured, civilized, modern and happy capital worthy of the trust and expectations of the central government, General Secretary and State President To Lam, the people and the great sacrifices of previous generations.
