The Vietnam Miss Ao Dai Heritage 2024 Contest, organized by the People's Committee of Son Tay Town, aims to honor and promote the beauty of women in traditional Ao Dai (traditional long dress) throughout different periods.
The contest, run from October 22 to December 10, aims to elevate the Ao Dai as a "cultural symbol" in diplomacy, and the development of culture and tourism in Vietnam. It underscores the Ao Dai's significance as a unique traditional outfit for Vietnamese women.

The contest seeks to find a woman who embodies beauty, virtue, and talent, capable of promoting the image of the Vietnamese Ao Dai. It also emphasizes the role and contributions of Vietnamese women in the country’s development and international integration, showcasing Vietnam's culture and people to the world.
According to Vice Chairman of Son Tay Town People's Committee Le Dai Thang, Son Tay—known as the heart of the Xu Doai, known as the cradle of ancient Vietnamese civilization and is a land rich in history, culture, and heritage.
Hosting the Vietnam Miss Ao Dai Heritage 2024 Contest will help highlight the unique cultural values of Son Tay, especially its historical and cultural sites and natural landscapes, attracting both domestic and international visitors, he noted.
Thang said the contest is an opportunity to introduce Son Tay's traditional cultural values, raising awareness about preserving cultural and historical heritage. It also aims to promote Son Tay as a cultural destination for both tourists and investors.

The contest is open to Vietnamese women aged 18 to 29, who have completed high school or higher, are unmarried, not registered for marriage, have no children, are not pregnant, have no criminal record, and are not under criminal investigation during the contest. Contestants must be at least 1.6 meters tall.
The semi-finals are scheduled for November 23 at the main stage of Son Tay Ancient Citadel's pedestrian street, featuring 100 contestants showcasing Ao Dai and participating in photo shoots. The final night will take place on November 24, also at the main stage, with 30 finalists competing in self-introductions, evening gown presentations, Ao Dai performances, and a Q&A session.
The contest will crown one Miss Heritage Vietnam Ao Dai and four runner-ups. The titleholder will receive a prize worth VND2 billion (including VND150 million in cash). The judging panel includes People's Artists Tran Nhuong and Xuan Bac, Meritorious Artist Thu Phuong, and Miss Universe Vietnam Ngoc Chau.
