Attending the ceremony was Hanoi Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Thu Ha.

According to reports, the project to renovate and expand subject classrooms and functional rooms at Thang Long Secondary School, which meets national standards, required a total investment of more than VND133 billion (US$5 million).

The project features a modern and synchronized design on a land area of about 4,500 square meters, featuring renovation of two existing five-story buildings and construction of a new six-story building with one basement level.

After completion, the school now has 36 classrooms and 14 functional rooms, serving 48 classes with 2,045 students.

The project includes a fully compliant fire prevention and firefighting system, upgraded subject classrooms, functional rooms and modern teaching equipment, meeting all criteria for a level-two national standard school.

On January 15, 2026, the Hanoi People's Committee issued a decision recognizing the renovation and construction of Thang Long Secondary School as a project celebrating the 14th National Party Congress.

This marks the first project of Giang Vo Ward recognized by the city under the two-tier local government model, demonstrating the proactive spirit, determination and organizational capacity of local Party committees and authorities from the initial stages of the new governance model.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Party Secretary and Chairman of the Giang Vo Ward People's Committee Co Nhu Dung affirmed that from this day forward, teachers and students of Thang Long Secondary School officially study and work in a modern and well-equipped campus.

"With a tradition of unity, strong responsibility and constant effort among staff, teachers and employees, I believe the school will continue to affirm its position as one of the leading quality education institutions in Giang Vo Ward and the capital, contributing positively to education and training of future citizens with knowledge, resilience and responsibility to family, society and the nation," he said.

Dung added that with education and training as top priorities, the ward will continue directing investment in school facilities toward synchronized and modern development, completing classroom systems, functional rooms, teaching equipment and digital transformation infrastructure across all educational institutions.

Dung encouraged innovation, application of information technology and digital transformation in teaching and learning to gradually improve overall education quality and meet the capital's development needs and residents' expectations.

He expressed hope that Giang Vo Ward will continue receiving guidance and support from the city and relevant departments so local education and training can continue developing and meet the capital's growing demands.
