With this final phase completed, more than two kilometers of fencing around Thong Nhat Park have now been dismantled, creating an open layout directly linked to surrounding streets and the central pedestrian area.

To further build on the effectiveness of the fence removal, following earlier implementation along Le Duan Street, Hai Ba Trung Ward submitted a proposal in late July 2025, which was approved by the city in line with recommendations from the Department of Construction.
The Department of Construction and the Hanoi Center for Technical Infrastructure Management on November 30, officially handed over responsibility for management, maintenance, greenery, drainage, lighting, and environmental sanitation at Thong Nhat Park to the Hai Ba Trung Ward People's Committee.

After receiving the handover, the ward conducted a comprehensive review and commissioned urgent upgrades to improve the park's landscape and better meet public needs, including removing fences along Nguyen Dinh Chieu and Dai Co Viet, replacing and adding paired trash bins, repairing block, brick, and terrazzo walkways, and refurbishing the Nguyen Dinh Chieu gate at the intersection with Tue Tinh Street.
Implementation began in early December 2025, and by December 16, all remaining fencing had been dismantled, including about 700 meters along Nguyen Dinh Chieu and 470 meters along Dai Co Viet.

Fresh flowers are being planted across multiple areas, adding vibrant splashes of color.
Following the full removal of iron fencing along these streets, the ward, its project management unit, and Thong Nhat Park One Member Company continued to demolish concrete fence posts along sidewalks and carry out environmental cleanup. Sanitation work within the park has largely been completed, including the replacement of all 135 outdated trash bins.
To serve residents during New Year 2026, the Lunar New Year of the Fire Horse, and major upcoming events, the ward has also implemented seasonal floral decorations at locations such as the Nguyen Van Troi monument, Nguyen Dinh Chieu Gate, Thong Nhat Gate, Thong Nhat Islet Gate, Thong Nhat Islet Bridge, statues of President Ho Chi Minh and President Ton Duc Thang, along the park's main axis, and through ceremonial displays, while replacing several grass beds with colorful flower arrangements.

Workers carry out maintenance and environmental cleanup across the city.
According to the schedule, all remaining items are expected to be completed before December 30, 2025, to serve public activities during the 2026 New Year holiday.

Overview of the park.
Since late 2022, nearly 400 meters of fencing along Tran Nhan Tong Street were removed to connect the park with the Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian street, followed by the removal of about 650 meters along Le Duan Street in March 2025.
Thong Nhat Park covers more than 50 hectares and is the largest park in Hanoi, bordered by Tran Nhan Tong, Le Duan, Dai Co Viet, and Nguyen Dinh Chieu streets.
The phased removal of its fencing not only opens physical space but also supports management reform, park renovation, the creation of a continuous pedestrian corridor along Tran Nhan Tong Street, and the enhancement of the central Hanoi urban landscape.
