Overview of the event.
At the event, journalist Nguyen Minh Duc, Party Secretary and Editor‑in‑Chief of Hanoimoi Newspaper, stated that as the organ of the Hanoi Party Committee and the voice of the Party, the government, and the people of the capital, the newspaper has consistently made important contributions to the city's collective achievements, as recognized by both central and municipal authorities.
In nearly 68 years since its first daily issue on October 24, 1957, the newspaper has upheld its mission by staying grounded in reality and actively promoting the Party's guidelines, the State's policies and laws, as well as those of the capital's Party Committee and government. Its publications and initiatives have inspired and encouraged the people in the historic struggle for independence and freedom, and continue to support the current endeavor of nation-building and defense.
Duc emphasized that the newspaper has effectively communicated and disseminated information to raise awareness, build trust, and foster social consensus in the implementation of the Party's resolutions and major decisions of both the central government and the city, while encouraging officials, Party members, and citizens to actively undertake their political duties to the city and the country.

Hanoimoi Newspaper has also led in defending the Party's ideological foundations by taking initiative in combating false narratives, guiding public opinion, and serving as an important voice in fulfilling the political mission of the capital and nation, thereby continually elevating its status as the Party's newspaper in the capital. Notably, the newspaper has established a methodical and in-depth approach that has generated broad social impact in communicating the campaign for administrative streamlining, and in promoting the Party and General Secretary To Lam's major perspectives on a "new era – the nation's rise."
"By holding the photo exhibition titled 'Hanoimoi Newspaper Accompanies the Capital on the Path of Development' on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day, we intend to show the determination of the journalists of the Party's newspaper in the capital to uphold and develop the glorious tradition of revolutionary journalism, while boldly transforming to excellently fulfill their assigned political mission, meeting the development needs of the capital and the whole country in this new era of the nation—always worthy of being the Heroic Newspaper of the Heroic Capital," stated the Editor‑in‑Chief of Hanoimoi Newspaper.
The photo exhibition comprises two main thematic sections. The first section takes viewers back to important historical milestones of Hanoi and the nation through special newspaper covers, including the very first daily issue of Thu Do Newspaper—the Party Committee's publication—on October 24, 1957; the covers of Thoi moi before its merger with Thu Do Newspaper and its renaming by President Ho Chi Minh as Hanoimoi Newspaper on January 25, 1968. Viewers also encounter the covers from April 30, 1975 and May 1, 1975 with joyful news celebrating the Liberation of the South and national reunification, as well as editions covering 17 congresses of the Hanoi Party Committee.
The exhibition also features covers from Ha Tay Newspaper before it merged into Hanoimoi Newspaper, the August 1, 2008 issue when Hanoi and Hà Tay officially unified, and many holiday and special editions highlighting significant historical moments. Beyond newspaper covers, the exhibition includes images of the capital and country captured through the lenses of the journalists from Hanoimoi Newspaper and their trusted contributors.
These meaningful images, marking the contributions of Hanoimoi journalists along the capital's development journey, are displayed in the space before the newspaper's headquarters reflecting across Hoan Kiem Lake. The exhibition provides a meaningful destination for journalists, readers, and the public in Hanoi on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press Day.
