The Party Committee of the Hanoi People's Committee Office on May 16 held a ceremony to award the 30-year Party membership badge to Tran Sy Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Hanoi People’s Committee Party Chief and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.
On behalf of the Hanoi Party Committee's Standing Board, Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council, presented the Badge, certificate, and flowers to congratulate Chairman Thanh.
Tuan emphasized that the Party Membership Badge is a prestigious honor, recognizing the perseverance and dedication of Party members to the revolutionary cause.
"This is not only a personal honor for mayor Thanh but also a source of pride for the entire Hanoi Party Committee. It is a testament to the maturity, progress, and tireless efforts of a senior leader of the capital," he said.
The badge presentation ceremony coincided with the 135th birth anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025), making it especially meaningful.
On this occasion, more than 8,700 Party members in Hanoi were honored with Party membership badges, including many former city leaders such as Nguyen The Thao, former Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, and Tuong Phi Chien, former Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.
Tuan praised Thanh's contributions throughout his career. Despite serving in various roles across multiple agencies and localities, Thanh has consistently shown dedication and successfully fulfilled all assigned tasks.
"In particular, as the Vice Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee, he has always demonstrated the exemplary spirit of a Party member and worked closely with the city government to accomplish many difficult and innovative initiatives for the development of the capital," Tuan said.
He also hoped that Chairman Thanh will continue to uphold the qualities of a Communist Party member, maintain his pioneering spirit and integrity, and, together with the People's Committee, fulfill the goals set by the city's Party Congress.
Chairman Tran Sy Thanh speaks at the event.
Speaking at the ceremony, Chairman Tran Sy Thanh expressed his deep honor and pride at receiving the 30-year Party membership badge – a sacred and noble recognition from the Party.
He recalled that from the moment he was admitted to the Communist Party of Vietnam, he pledged lifelong loyalty to the Party's goals and ideals, vowing to strictly follow the Party's Platform and Charter, and to continuously study, strive, and dedicate himself to the cause of the Party and the people.
Throughout his career, from central agencies to local government, Thanh said that he has always remembered President Ho Chi Minh's teachings and upheld the revolutionary spirit and exemplary conduct of a Party member, adhering to the principles of diligence, thrift, integrity, righteousness, and impartiality.
"Receiving the 30-year Party membership badge today, I am deeply aware that the greater the honor, the greater the responsibility. The trust of the Party and the people is not automatic, it must be earned through constant effort, discipline, and dedication," he said.
As Chairman of the People's Committee, Thanh pledged to continue improving himself, devoting his full energy and experience to innovation, staying grounded in reality, listening to the people, and faithfully serving them.
He reaffirmed his commitment to contributing to the shared goal of building a green, smart, modern, compassionate, and culturally rich Hanoi.
Looking ahead, Thanh expected to receive continued guidance and support from the city's Party leadership, and close coordination from Party committees, government agencies, mass organizations, and political-social institutions.
He also welcomed encouragement and honest feedback from colleagues and peers to better fulfill his responsibilities.
