Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong presents flowers to congratulate the Hanoi Youth Union
Presenting flowers to congratulate the Hanoi Youth Union on the 95th anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, Phong affirmed that the tradition of the Hanoi Youth Union has always been closely tied to the process of building and developing the city Party organization, serving as the core force behind revolutionary action movements of young people nationwide over the past 95 years. That tradition is one of patriotism, creativity, courage, and determination. From Hanoi, many revolutionary youth movements went on to become shared movements of young people across the country.

In particular, the Hoang Dieu National Salvation Youth Union, made up mostly of young people aged 16 to 20, was the core force in the seizure of power in Hanoi on August 19.
During the resistance war against French colonialism and the resistance war against the United States, patriotic movements of young people in the capital also created a highly vibrant atmosphere to support the battlefronts. At the center of those movements were youth organizations, especially student youth. Major youth action movements such as "Three Readies," "Marching Along the Truong Son Range," and "Putting Down the Pen to Fight the Americans," launched by students in the capital, spread widely across northern Vietnam.
After national reunification, Hanoi also became the birthplace of many major movements that connected with and accompanied the aspirations of broad groups of young people.
"Therefore, the city Youth Union has also been a true revolutionary school for training, educating, and fostering cadres not only for the Central Youth Union, but for all Party committees and local authorities across the city," Phong emphasized.

According to Phong, in every historical stage, youth have always been a highly responsive force, quick to identify and define their responsibilities to society, the community, fellow young people, and Party committees at all levels. Today, in the country's new development stage, the demands placed on Hanoi are very high, reflecting the trust, expectations, and responsibilities entrusted to the city's Party organization, government, and people.
Phong expressed his hope that the Hanoi Youth Union would communicate development orientations for both the capital and the country to Union organizations at all levels and to young union members in the capital. In that process, Hanoi, given its role, position, responsibility, and standing, must contribute even more to the country's development. At the same time, the city must make full use of its own potential and strengths.
According to Phong, the capital's greatest strength lies in the depth of its thousand-year cultural heritage passed down to the present generation. That resource is also its young, well-educated, and high-quality human capital. In every stage, every era, and every revolutionary requirement, youth have always been the pioneering and leading force.
Phong noted that, in the current context, the development of the capital and the country will be based on science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, cultural resources, and high-quality human resources. All of these factors converge most strongly in the younger generation, and especially in youth. That requires the Youth Union to adapt in order to develop, mobilize, gather, and inspire young people in the capital to bring their youth, intelligence, and enthusiasm to personal development and contributions to the community.
The 95th anniversary of the Youth Union is also an opportunity to look back on its tradition, take pride in it, and build confidence in order to define responsibilities more clearly. From there, it creates the determination and motivation to continue inheriting and further promoting the glorious tradition of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in general and that of Hanoi in particular.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Phong congratulated and praised the achievements and contributions made by young people in the capital to the cause of building and developing Hanoi. He said he believes the younger generation of the capital will worthily inherit and further enrich the tradition of the Hanoi Youth Union, making practical and effective contributions to the city's overall development and to the growth of Hanoi's youth today.
On behalf of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Youth Union, Nguyen Tien Hung, Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union, respectfully thanked Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, for his attention, encouragement, motivation, and high expectations for the youth of the capital.
According to Hung, in recent years, Youth Union work and youth and children's movements in the city have always received attention and the best possible support from city leaders. Young people have been given opportunities to take part in new and difficult tasks of the city and the Front, especially in innovation and digital transformation activities.
Hung affirmed that, under any circumstances, young people in the capital will fulfill and demonstrate their role in a way worthy of the glorious history, standing, and role built by the Youth Union through different periods.
In the new stage, the Hanoi Youth Union will closely follow the orientations of the central authorities and the political tasks of the city and localities so that youth movements are truly practical and aligned with current needs.
