General Secretary To Lam and other national leaders pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.
A delegation of Party and State leaders, led by General Secretary To Lam, laid a wreath and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum on April 29.
The delegation also offered incense at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).
The delegation included former General Secretary Nong Duc Manh, State President Luong Cuong, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, Permanent Secretary of the Party Central Committee Tran Cam Tu, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, current and former Politburo members and Party Central Committee Secretaries, and leaders from central ministries and organizations.
The wreath bore the words: "Eternal gratitude to the great President Ho Chi Minh."
President Ho Chi Minh was a great leader, a teacher of the Vietnamese revolution, a national liberation hero, a world cultural figure, and a close friend of peace-loving nations.
Before his resting place, the delegation expressed deep gratitude for his lifelong devotion to the country, and guiding the Vietnamese people through countless struggles and victories.
Fulfilling his sacred wish, the Party, army, and people succeeded in liberating the South and unifying the country, paving the way for building socialism.
Fifty years ago, Vietnam made a historic milestone on April 30, 1975. The Spring 1975 General Offensive and Uprising, culminating in the Ho Chi Minh Campaign, liberated the South and united the nation.
Since then, the Vietnamese people have worked to heal the wounds of war and build a strong, peaceful, and developed nation.
After nearly 40 years of reform and development, Vietnam continues to grow and overcome challenges, striving to fulfill President Ho Chi Minh's vision of a strong, prosperous country standing proudly among the world's powers.
Following the tribute at the Mausoleum, the delegation laid a wreath and offer incense at the Monument to Heroic Martyrs on Bac Son Street.
Hanoi leaders, led by Party chief Bui Thi Minh Hoai, visited and paid tribute to President Ho Chi Minh at the mausoleum.
In a solemn atmosphere, the leaders honored those who sacrificed their lives for national independence, freedom, and the people's happiness.
The wreath at the monument read: "Eternal gratitude to the heroic martyrs."
That same morning, a delegation from Hanoi, led by Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai, visited the Mausoleum to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh.
Joining the delegation were Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee cum Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council cum Deputy Head of the city's National Assembly delegation Nguyen Ngoc Tuan, members of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee, leaders of the Hanoi People's Council, the People's Committee and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, and other city departments.
At the mausoleum, Hanoi leaders expressed their deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh's contributions and pledged to work together for a more prosperous, cultured, and modern capital.
The Hanoi delegation also laid a wreath and paid tribute to fallen heroes at the Monument on Bac Son Street.
Later the same day, other delegations, including the Party Committees of the Central Military Commission, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Ministry of Public Security, along with many officials and citizens, visited the mausoleum and monument to honor President Ho Chi Minh and the heroic martyrs.
