The 10th Hanoi Book Festival is being organized to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 – August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 – September 2, 2025), as well as the 71st anniversary of the Capital's Liberation Day (October 10, 1954 – October 10, 2025).
The event aims to promote national historical, cultural, and revolutionary traditions, ignite patriotism, self-reliance, unity, and a strong national development aspiration. It also serves to celebrate the proud millennial legacy of Thang Long - Hanoi.

Through the festival, the city continues to strengthen efforts to develop a reading culture, foster a habit of reading, and encourage reading movements within the community, moving towards a learning society and contributing to the cultivation of a civilized and elegant image of Hanoi's citizens.
Key Activities at the Festival
The event will feature exhibitions of books and materials about Thang Long - Hanoi, alongside technology products, innovation displays, and digital transformation applications in publishing. These exhibits are intended to promote the significance of national and capital city holidays and reinforce public trust in the country's renewal process and pride in Hanoi's long-standing heritage.
Approximately 50 domestic and international publishers and distribution enterprises are expected to participate, with 250 to 300 standard booths set up for the event.
A variety of side activities will be organized, including book introductions, seminars, author exchanges, and copyright trading sessions.
A mobile library space will be set up, where readers can also register for online library cards on-site.
The event will also showcase the "Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam Digital Bookshelf," presenting books related to the Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam relic site, its educational traditions, historical scholars, and cultural experience activities.
In addition to these, there will be cultural exchange programs and other side events.
The Hanoi People's Committee has assigned the Department of Culture and Sports to take the lead in coordinating the organization of the Book Festival. This includes collaborating with relevant agencies and both central and local media outlets to disseminate information and promote the festival and related reading culture activities.
The Department of Construction is tasked with coordinating traffic arrangements, ensuring order and safety in the surrounding area, and organizing parking facilities for guests and attendees. It is also responsible for the safe and effective operation of the lighting system around the festival zone.
The Hanoi People's Committee has emphasized that the overall design of the 10th Hanoi Book Festival must ensure artistic quality, align with reading culture activities, and honor the scenic surroundings of Hoan Kiem Lake. All festival events must be conducted in a respectful, meaningful, safe, economical, educational, innovative, and culturally representative manner in line with the spirit of Hanoi.
