To ensure the effective implementation of the 2026 Economic Census across the city, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang has assigned the Hanoi Statistics Office, the standing agency of the Steering Committee, to take the lead and coordinate with relevant departments, agencies and commune-level People's Committees to direct and organize the full and timely implementation of all census tasks in accordance with regulations.
The Hanoi Statistics Office is also tasked with coordinating with the City Tax Department and related departments and agencies to issue guidance documents for household businesses, religious establishments, public service units, enterprises and associations across the city to carry out the census.
The office will regularly monitor, inspect, supervise, urge and compile implementation progress reports from relevant units and submit them to the City Steering Committee for direction.
Relevant departments, agencies and members of the Steering Committee, based on their assigned functions and duties, are required to coordinate with the Hanoi Statistics Office to develop implementation plans. On the basis of official guidelines, they must proactively organize and instruct units under their management to effectively carry out the census.
People's Committees of communes and wards are responsible for directing and organizing the census in their localities in line with professional guidance and the plan issued by the City Steering Committee.
They must actively disseminate information widely among residents to ensure that authorities, agencies, enterprises and citizens clearly understand the purpose, requirements, significance and importance of the census. Units and individuals are required to provide timely, complete and accurate information and create favorable conditions for enumerators to fulfill their duties.
All units must strictly comply with reporting requirements to the Steering Committee. Any issues arising beyond their authority must be reported to the Hanoi People's Committee through the Hanoi Statistics Office for consolidation and advisory handling in accordance with regulations.
The Chairman also requests that administrative agencies, public service units, associations, religious establishments, enterprises, household businesses and residents across the city provide information and facilitate enumerators and steering committees at all levels to ensure the successful completion of the 2026 Economic Census.
