Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha inspects preparations the National Election in O Dien Commune.
On March 1, Inspection Team No 3 of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee reviewed preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2026–2031 term in O Dien commune.
The delegation was led by Phung Thi Hong Ha, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council and Chairwoman of the Hanoi Election Committee.
The team inspected election preparations, including polling locations, decorations, posted lists of candidates and voters and ballot boxes at Thuy Hoi Hamlet (Polling Area No. 29), Quy and Lien Ha hamlets (Polling Area No. 15) and Thuong Hoi Hamlet (Polling Area No. 31) in O Dien Commune to comprehensively assess progress and quality at the grassroots level.
The delegation also identified difficulties and provided guidance to ensure the election is conducted democratically, lawfully, safely, economically and truly becomes a people's festival.
Reporting to the delegation, commune leaders said that immediately after receiving directives from central and city authorities, O Dien promptly developed plans, established its Steering Committee and Commune Election Committee and assigned specific responsibilities to each member.
Communication efforts have been implemented through various forms, including grassroots broadcasting systems, banners, posters, mobile communication and Party cell and mass organization meetings.
To date, O Dien has completed the review, compilation and posting of voter lists in accordance with regulations and organized candidate consultations ensuring proper procedures and structure.
The receipt and resolution of election-related complaints have been handled seriously and within authority, with no emerging hotspots or complex issues. Political security and social order remain stable.
The commune has also focused on professional training for polling teams and prepared facilities, such as ballot boxes, voting rooms, documents and forms, to ensure solemn and convenient conditions for voters.
Specific plans for disease prevention and environmental hygiene at polling stations have been developed.
At the inspection, Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Council Phung Thi Hong Ha acknowledged and praised the proactive and serious efforts of the local Party committee, authorities and political system in implementing election preparations.
The chairwoman asks authorities of O Dien Commune to continue carefully reviewing voter lists to avoid omissions or duplication and to pay attention to special groups.
She emphasized that elections are a particularly important political task reflecting citizens' democratic rights, requiring meticulous and lawful preparation at every stage.

"The posting of voter lists and candidate information must be transparent, allowing voters adequate time to review and study," she said.
The commune was also urged to intensify practical and accessible communication efforts so all residents fully understand the election's significance and participate responsibly.
The inspection team head reminded local authorities to thoroughly prepare security, traffic safety and fire prevention plans and proactively address potential situations to avoid unexpected disruptions.
Ha expressed confidence that with close direction from the Hanoi Party Committee, coordinated efforts of the political system and public consensus, O Dien Commune will successfully organize the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils for 2026–2031, making March 15 a true celebration of the people.
