Hanoi will organize a series of activities celebrating the 80th anniversary of Vietnam's Sports Sector (March 27, 1946 – March 27, 2026) and the 2026 Olympic Run for Public Health under Plan No. 72/KH-UBND signed on February 27, 2026, by Vu Thu Ha, Vice Chairwoman of the Hanoi People's Committee.
The plan aims to promote the traditional day of Vietnam's sports sector and encourage residents to engage in regular physical exercise to improve health and spiritual well-being.
It also continues to advance the movement "All people exercise following the example of great Uncle Ho," strengthen community solidarity and build a civilized, modern capital.
According to the plan, anniversary activities must be practical, solemn, effective and suitable to actual conditions, while promoting tradition and inspiring responsibility and fitness participation among residents. Specifically:

The program will be jointly organized by the Hanoi People's Committee, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, drawing an estimated 5,000 to 10,000 participants in Hanoi and about one million participants nationwide.
Key components of the plan include:

Encouraging residents to choose at least one sport for daily practice to enhance their physical and mental fitness.
