The festival is held in a joyful atmosphere among women's organizations at all levels to celebrate the success of the National Election Day – the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term.
This is the third year the Hanoi Women's Union has organized the festival. The event is part of the project "Promoting the Role of Capital Women in Building a Peaceful and Creative City for the 2023–2026 Period," approved by the Hanoi People's Committee.
The 2026 Festival "Capital Women for Peace and Development" is also organized to celebrate March, the month honoring women, recognizing the role and contributions of women and gender equality, and to welcome the 14th National Women's Congress for the 2026–2031 term.

The 2026 Festival "Capital Women for Peace and Development" features activities such as exhibitions showcasing culture, traditional products, and creative design products by women in the capital; the third "Healthy and Beautiful Capital Women" walking race; and the art program "Colors of Integration."
The program will welcome more than 1,000 participants, including central and city leaders, representatives of international organizations, embassies, friendship organizations, female intellectuals, artists, models, entrepreneurs, craft village artisans, athletes, women's union officials, members, and residents of Hanoi.
As part of the festival, the third "Healthy and Beautiful Capital Women" walking race will take place from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., attracting nearly 700 male and female participants aged 18 to 60, along with more than 200 supporters. The exhibition introducing cultural products, traditional products, and creative design products by women in the capital will feature 28 businesses, cooperatives, and clubs led by women, taking place along the Tran Nhan Tong pedestrian street from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on the same day.

The highlight of this year's festival is the art program "Colors of Integration," featuring professionally staged performances by well-known singers and artists, along with fashion shows presenting ao dai collections incorporating cultural patterns of Vietnam's ethnic minority groups. The program will also include performances and exchanges by representatives of embassies, foreign cultural centers, and affiliated units of the Hanoi Women's Union.
The program is expected to offer audiences an open and diverse Vietnamese cultural space in the heart of Hanoi.
Through this program, the Hanoi Women's Union aims to promote the traditional cultural values of Hanoi and other countries, while promoting the image of Hanoi as a thousand-year-old capital that is heroic, civilized, modern, and a safe, friendly, and attractive destination for both domestic and international visitors. The event also aims to honor the contributions of women in the capital to the city's socio-economic development and to encourage creativity and advancement among Hanoi women in the era of integration and development.
