Bui Huyen Mai, member of the Hanoi Party Committee's Standing Board and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi.
Speaking at the February work review meeting and outlining key tasks for March 2026, Bui Huyen Mai, member of the Hanoi Party Committee's Standing Board and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, highlighted four major groups of tasks for the coming month.
She requested that Fatherland Front organizations at all levels continue to focus on election-related tasks in accordance with their authority and legal regulations to ensure the successful organization of the national election festival.
Creating stronger highlights compared with 2025
Mai said that in February the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi focused on four major groups of tasks: social welfare and Lunar New Year care; election preparations; organization of the People's Representative Conference; and digital transformation within the Front system.
So far, these tasks have been implemented synchronously from the city level to grassroots level, ensuring progress and quality while achieving stronger results compared with 2025.
For example, in social welfare activities during the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Fatherland Front system mobilized more than VND420 billion (US$16 million) to support residents, compared with VND125 billion ($4.7 million) in 2025.
Notably, the city introduced a digital social welfare platform across all 126 wards and communes to ensure that every household enjoyed the Lunar New Year as directed by the Hanoi Party Secretary.
Any resident in Hanoi can now use the digital map to submit requests related to social welfare support during the holiday, which will be immediately connected to the Fatherland Front system across all 126 wards and communes.
Four key tasks for March
The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi has also implemented eight task groups in February in accordance with Notice No. 239 of the Hanoi Party Committee Office.
For March, Mai outlined four priority tasks:
First, Fatherland Front organizations at all levels must continue performing election-related tasks according to their authority, legal provisions and guidance from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
During the remaining 11 days before election day, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi will focus on organizing voter meetings with candidates for the National Assembly and People's Councils, ensuring fair and democratic campaigning and providing voters with full information about candidates.
Delegates attend the conference at the Hanoi Party Committee Hall.
Mai requested Fatherland Front organizations in all 126 wards and communes to organize community discussions about candidates' biographies in villages and residential groups so voters can thoroughly review relevant information about candidates.
These activities must ensure that elections both fill all seats and select the most suitable representatives.
She also required stronger oversight to ensure that every stage of the election process is conducted democratically and in accordance with the law.
Second, Fatherland Front organizations should continue organizing People's Representative Conferences at the commune level. In February, Hanoi will complete these conferences at the hamlet and residential group level and in March they will be held simultaneously across 126 wards and communes.
These meetings must maintain quality and progress while aligning with the "Month of Listening to the People" initiative as directed by Party General Secretary To Lam, encouraging residents to contribute ideas to address major bottlenecks in the city's development.
Third, the Fatherland Front system will implement the 2026 plan for social supervision and public consultation.
Fourth, Mai requested continuing comprehensive and practical digital transformation within the Front system. In March, the system will apply new citywide software platforms.
Since March 1, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi has handled all work online, creating conditions for evaluating officials according to new regulations of the Hanoi Party Committee based on OKR and KPI frameworks.
Noting that the remaining time before election day is limited and election tasks must ensure both progress and quality, Mai praised the efforts and dedication of Fatherland Front officials at all levels.
She expressed hope that the Front system will continue working together to achieve practical results, strengthening its role as a genuine bridge connecting the Party, authorities and the people.
