In an interview with the press, Member of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee and Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Xuan Luu, who also serves as Chairman of the Hanoi Council for Legal Education and Dissemination, said the draft revised Capital Law is being developed with stronger decentralization and delegation of authority, allowing the capital to be more proactive in governance and mobilizing resources for rapid and sustainable development. The revision is expected to create a breakthrough legal framework that helps Hanoi strengthen its role as the national political and administrative center while addressing development bottlenecks.

Amended Capital Law to grant Hanoi stronger authority and decentralization framework

On March 18, the National Assembly's Standing Committee gave feedback on the draft of amended Capital Law under the chairmanship of Tran Thanh Man, Politburo member and Chairman of the National Assembly and the moderation of Nguyen Thi Thanh, Party Central Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly.
