At the headquarters of the Vietnam Women's Union, Le Thi Thuy, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee, received the delegation.
On behalf of the leadership of Hanoi, Duong Duc Tuan congratulated the leadership of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee and expressed his hope that the organization will continue promoting its achievements and traditions as it enters a new development stage, fulfilling its mission within the Fatherland Front system and strengthening its role within the city's political system.
He emphasized that continuing the tradition of Vietnamese women described as "heroic, resilient, loyal and capable", the Vietnam Women's Union has introduced many innovations in organizational structure and activities while continuing to promote the strengths of women nationwide.
Affirming the longstanding relationship between Hanoi and the Vietnam Women's Union, Tuan said the capital remains committed to supporting the central union to effectively implement joint programs and cooperation activities.
The permanent vice chairman also shared that Hanoi is currently implementing major initiatives related to planning and institutional reform.
As a result, the capital's entire political system is expected to undergo significant changes and modernization. Notably, the number of female officials in Hanoi continues to increase at various levels.
In the upcoming election for National Assembly deputies and People's Council representatives, the proportion of female candidates is particularly high, reflecting substantive and effective participation.
Tuan also noted that Hanoi is a unique locality that includes mountainous ethnic areas, urban districts, rural communities and remote regions.
Therefore, attention to women's issues across all areas of society is essential to making the capital a national model in gender equality and women's development.
City leaders hope Hanoi and the Vietnam Women's Union will soon hold further discussions to implement specific cooperative initiatives, particularly in remote areas of the capital, ensuring that women's activities are comprehensive and contribute to overall progress.
Le Thi Thuy, member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union Central Committee, expressed sincere thanks and deep appreciation to Hanoi's leadership for their consistent attention and support for the Vietnam Women's Union.
She said that current activities of the central union are focused on border regions, the Northwest, the Central Highlands, the Southwest region and island communities.
Thuy expressed hope for continued cooperation and support from Hanoi so that the union can carry out meaningful and focused initiatives.
She also expressed hope that within the broader Fatherland Front system, Hanoi will continue strengthening its support for women in the capital.
This includes facilitating closer coordination among the Committee for the Advancement of Women, the Vietnam Women's Union and the Hanoi Women's Union to implement specific pilot models.
Thuy also wished Hanoi continued success and achievements in its development journey toward building a modern, civilized capital with happy citizens.
