Hanoi aims to have 1,000 supporting businesses in 2025.
Hanoi targets to have at least 1,000 supporting enterprises operate in 2025, as per a plan on developing the supporting industries recently issued by Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen.
The city aims for 40% of all supporting businesses to meet international standards for production and product quality, enabling them to engage in the global supply chains of multinational corporations in Vietnam.
Hanoi also eyes to have its supporting industry's development index grow by 12% annually.
To achieve these targets, municipal government, related departments and local authorities will connect and support enterprises to become suppliers for domestic and international clients.
The city will also promote foreign investment in this sector and provide technical advice and support to businesses in the supporting industry.
Hanoi plans to organize two trade fairs for supporting industries in 2025, with each fair hosting around 200-300 booths featuring supporting industry businesses from Hanoi, other provinces and cities, and foreign countries.
The capital will also hold investment promotion conferences to attract both domestic and international investments while boosting publicity for Hanoi's supporting industry sector.
Participating businesses will receive assistance in adopting management systems that meet the requirements of global production chains, with a focus on corporate governance, production management, research and development, technology transfer, and innovative production models.
The Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade will collaborate with relevant agencies to develop a detailed action plan for hosting the 2025 trade fairs.
The department will also assist industry businesses in upgrading and modernizing their production technology to ensure they meet the plan's objectives and target audience. It will also coordinate with relevant entities to mobilize resources from domestic and international organizations and individuals to provide financial support for the program.
Furthermore, the department will work with the Center for Industrial Development Support under the Ministry of Industry and Trade to effectively implement the Government's program on supporting industry development.
