Hanoi 2025 Tourism Gifts Festival set to be launched

8:19 PM, Mon March 17, 2025

Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen has signed and issued Plan No. 76/KH-UBND on March 17, 2025, regarding the organization of the Hanoi Tourism Gift Festival 2025.

The festival is scheduled to take place over three days, from April 11 to 13, 2025, under the theme "Hanoi Tourism – A World Heritage Destination," at the pedestrian zone of Tran Nhan Tong Street and its surrounding areas in Hai Ba Trung District, Hanoi.

This annual event aims to stimulate tourism, promote the city with the message "Hanoi – Come to Love," and establish it as a "Safe – Friendly – High-Quality – Attractive" destination. It seeks to draw visitors while celebrating and showcasing Hanoi's cultural heritage, traditional beauty, and unique culinary excellence.

The festival is a meaningful initiative to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Southern Vietnam and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025) and to support the National Tourism Year 2025, themed "Hue – The Ancient Capital, A New Era." It also serves as an opportunity to introduce and promote Hanoi and Vietnam's tourist attractions, products, services, and signature gifts to both domestic and international visitors.

By enhancing tourism marketing and promotion, the festival aims to strengthen connections between tourism and culture. It will develop cultural and historical tourism routes linking heritage sites with preservation efforts, honoring and highlighting the unique values of Thang Long's cultural heritage, the West Lake area, and particularly the Old Quarter, the French Quarter, Hoan Kiem Lake, and its surroundings.

The event will focus on promoting traditional craft villages and handicrafts through interactive experiences, turning these artisanal products into distinctive tourism gifts that attract both domestic and international visitors.

The festival will feature exhibition spaces showcasing and promoting tourism products, with an estimated 80 standard booths. These include an experiential space highlighting heritage and tourist destinations, a dedicated area for traditional craft villages, a display of Hanoi's signature tourism gifts, and an exhibition of high-quality artisanal products from Hanoi's craft villages.

It will also include a culinary zone featuring Hanoi's signature cuisine alongside specialties from other provinces and cities, themed photography areas, an exhibition of beautiful images of Hanoi, and a digital tourism experience space.

Various promotional and cultural activities will take place throughout the festival, including presentations and promotions of tourist destinations and tourism resources, live demonstrations and introductions of Hanoi's UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritage, hands-on workshops on traditional crafts and product-making, and showcases of tourism potential from various provinces and cities.

There will also be exhibitions and interactions with master artisans from distinguished craft villages, culinary experiences featuring Hanoi's renowned dishes and specialties from other regions, and trend-focused activities for young visitors, including interactive challenges.

The Hanoi People's Committee has assigned the Department of Tourism as the lead agency responsible for coordinating with relevant units to design and implement the overall and detailed event plan. The department, in cordination with the Hanoi Police Department, will provide information on the event scale, the number of booths and participating businesses, transportation logistics, and schedules for moving equipment and products before the festival takes place. It will also work closely with district and municipal authorities, as well as cultural and tourism departments across the country, to select and arrange exhibition booths that best showcase local tourism products, resources, and artisans.

The Hanoi People's Committee has emphasized that all activities within the festival must be large-scale, creative, and unique, attracting a wide audience of residents and visitors. The event should leverage various social resources from businesses, organizations, and individuals to ensure its success while maintaining efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
