On May 12, a high-level delegation from Vientiane Capital, led by Athsaphangthong Siphandone, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Vientiane Party Committee and Chairman of the Vientiane People's Council, paid tribute at the Mausoleum of President Ho Chi Minh.
Accompanying the delegation was Hanoi Party Standing Committee member and Standing Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan.
Before the spirit of President Ho Chi Minh, the delegation expressed deep respect and gratitude for the great contributions of the beloved leader of the Vietnamese people.
At the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Major General Pham Van Hieu, Secretary of the Party Committee of Group 969 and Political Commissar of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Command, together with officers of the unit, welcomed the high-level delegation from Vientiane Capital.
Speaking at the reception, Major General Pham Van Hieu affirmed that the visit by the Vientiane delegation had made a practical contribution to strengthening the friendship between the two capitals and the two countries.

Providing an overview to the delegation, Major General Pham Van Hieu said that over the 57 years since President Ho Chi Minh passed away and the 51 years since the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum officially opened to visitors on August 29, 1975, generations of officers and soldiers of the Mausoleum Command have continuously strived to fulfill their assigned political duties successfully.
He noted that more than 70 million visitors, including over 10 million international visitors, have visited the mausoleum to pay tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, reflecting the affection and respect of the Vietnamese people and international friends toward the great leader of Vietnam.
