Decree 176 came into effect from November 15, 2020.
Wearing face masks is compulsory in public places such as railway stations, bus stations,
supermarkets
, among others.
Accordingly, a
fine ranging from VND 1.000.000 to VND 3.000.000
(US$43-129)
is
impos
ed for those who fail to implement hygiene measures at residences, public areas, vehicles and domestic waste storage areas, thus causing or spreading an infectious disease.
The fine is ten times bigger than the previous rate of VND 100,000-300,000.
Deputy Chairman of the city People’s Committee Ngo Van
Quy
on last Thursday underlined that people without masks would not be allowed to enter public places in Ha
Noi
, which is bracing for the onset of winter, when the threat of
Covid-19 could increase.
In the two cities, a large number of residents have yet
fully complied with the new regulation.
Surprise checks at
Hoan
