According to the decision, Vice Chairman of the Municipal People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy will be the Head of the Steering Committee, which includes representatives of relevant departments, sectors.

The committee will be responsible for building a plan of human disease prevention and control in the capital city; giving guidelines to the city’s departments, sectors, agencies and People’s Committees of districts, towns basing on their functions, responsibilities to implement disease prevention work; deploying missions relating to human disease prevention in accordance with directions of the Municipal People’s Committee and Ministry of Health; suggesting the Municipal People’s Committee provide enough funds, medicines, chemicals, equipments for disease prevention work.

The Municipal People’s Committee assigned Health Department to take prime responsibility for advising the Steering Committee, and deploying specialized, technical activities to prevent human diseases in the capital city.
