By 2020: 24 schools of Tay Ho District to meet national standard

Coping with overloaded schools due to rapid population growth, Tay Ho District has concentrated on building, deploying the project on developing school network in the 2016 - 2020 period vision to 2030.

At present, the district records 20 schools (of which, 19 out of 24 are public schools, accounting for 79.2%) recognized national status; 100% of preschools meeting national criteria.

In addition, the district has focused on building the plan on developing school network in the 2016 – 2020 vision to 2030 in line with its sectorial planning and socio-economic development plan, contributing to completing national school network in the area.

With the total estimated cost of VND590 billion from the district’s state budget, the project aims at concretizing following targets:
- By 2020, the district will have from 27 to 33 public schools, of which, 24 ones will meet all national standards, from 27 to 33 public ones will be recognized national status by 2030;
- Developing at least two non-public schools in each education level in new urban areas;
- Decreasing the number of students in class, specifically, no more than 40 pupils in a class for preschool or primary schools, and 45 pupils in a class for secondary schools;
- Building from one to two high quality schools;
- Enhancing the quality of teaching - studying; the rate of students at grade 9 who pass entrance exam will reach between 70-75%, etc.
To fulfill the above targets, from now until 2020, along with public school network, the district will focus on developing non-public schools in the locality; deploying the project on building new schools in wards of Tu Lien, Yen Phu, Nhat Tan, etc; reviewing the plan of school network in the area until 2020 vision to 2030; linking schools which will be built in new urban areas with existing schools to effectively meet students’ learning needs in the area.
