Vietnam youth to hold flag-raising ceremonies ahead 14th Party Congress

9:59 PM, Mon January 19, 2026

Youth Union organisations nationwide will simultaneously hold flag-raising ceremonies before the opening of the 14th National Party Congress on the morning of January 19. This is a key highlight in the current peak communication campaign, demonstrating the steadfast affection and confidence of Vietnamese youth in the Party.

Young people take part in the flag-raising ceremony under the theme "I Love My Fatherland."

At a recent online conference on implementing the communication plan to celebrate the 14th National Party Congress, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and President of the Vietnam Youth Federation Nguyen Tuong Lam stressed that the 14th National Party Congress is a particularly important political event.

As the Party's reliable reserve force, the Youth Union must create a broad and meaningful political campaign across the entire organisation so that union members and young people nationwide can express their feelings and concerns toward this important political event.

Under the communication plan for the 14th National Party Congress, the Youth Union will implement a wide range of activities and communication formats. The focus will be on publicising new and core points in the draft documents to be submitted to the Congress, breakthrough resolutions of the Politburo, the atmosphere of activities, new highlights, and the spirit of unity and consensus at the Congress.

Communication will also reflect Congress outcomes as expressions of confidence, momentum and determination among young people toward the Congress, promote activities of the Union, the Youth Federation, the Young Pioneer Organisation and young people nationwide in celebration of the Congress, and actively counter hostile and distorted viewpoints against the Party and the State before, during and after the Congress.

One of the key highlights of the communication plan is the launch of a youth movement toward the 14th National Party Congress, to be carried out from January 18 to 30. The campaign will encourage union members and young people to take photos with the Party flag, participate in social activities, organise collective branch activities, and post content online. Units will organise simultaneous flag-raising ceremonies and sing the National Anthem on January 19, the opening day of the Congress. Participants will take photos at historical sites and revolutionary landmarks and upload activity videos to social media platforms with hashtags referring to the Youth Union and young people heading toward the 14th National Party Congress.

At the same time, the Central Youth Union will roll out the CapCut template "The Party's Call to the Heart" and the challenge "Dance to the Call of the Heart," to be posted on TikTok and Facebook to promote the Congress.

A special highlight in this series of activities will be the nationwide simultaneous flag-raising ceremony on the morning of January 19. Youth Union units at all levels, communes, wards, townships, special zones and schools across the country will organise flag-raising ceremonies before the opening of the 14th National Party Congress to demonstrate the Youth Union's sentiments toward the Fatherland and toward the Party.

The 14th National Party Congress, under the motto "Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Breakthrough – Development," will officially take place in the capital Hanoi from January 19 to 25, 2026.

The theme of the Congress is: "Under the glorious flag of the Party, joining hands and standing united to successfully realise the national development goals to 2030; building self-reliance and confidence to move strongly forward in the era of national rise, for peace, independence, democracy, a prosperous, wealthy, civilised and happy country, and firm progress toward socialism."
