Phung Khoang Lake Park opens on January 15

Developing, renovating, and beautifying public green spaces and specialized parks is a key focus for Hanoi in 2021-2025 in efforts to build a civilized, green, clean, and beautiful city.

Contractors and the Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee on January 15 officially opened Phung Khoang Lake Park ahead of the city's deadline.

In a provisional handover document, the investors and Nam Tu Liem District agreed to put the main components of Phung Khoang Lake Park (excluding the lake area) into operation for public use.

The investors are responsible for completing the construction in line with the approved plans, ensuring the project's quality, finalizing quality management and legal documentation, preserving and maintaining the park, and ensuring safety, security, environmental cleanliness, and urban aesthetics.

Nam Tu Liem District authorities will work with the investors to maintain order, security, and safety during the park's operation.

At a meeting of the municipal Steering Committee for measures to fight the wasteful use of public assets on November 20, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh requested that investors and authorities complete and open Phung Khoang Lake Park for public use before the Lunar New Year 2025.

On December 31, 2024, Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Duong Duc Tuan visited the project site and urged investors to accelerate the construction and ensure the park's completion and opening before January 20.

In 2023, the Hanoi People's Committee resolved issues surrounding the Astronomy Park and Guitar Park projects in Duong Noi Urban Area, Ha Dong District. Despite delays caused by various challenges, these projects are now complete and operational, benefiting the community.

The Phung Khoang Lake Park project, a component of the Phung Khoang Urban Area Development Project, began construction in 2016. While the main components had been completed, the park remained closed to the public due to various reasons.

The early opening of Phung Khoang Lake Park marks an important milestone in addressing these delays, ensuring the park serves the community and aligns with Hanoi's broader goals of urban modernization and improved quality of life for its residents.
