Gifts are presented to workers in difficult circumstances.
The program takes place over two days, from January 31 to February 1, 2026, offering a combined space for shopping, cultural activities and community sharing for thousands of union members and workers.
The event is a practical activity to welcome the Year of the Horse 2026, celebrate the success of the 14th National Party Congress, and mark the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930-2026).
Opening ceremony of the "Trade Union Tet Market" for Hanoi workers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Nguyen Van Thang, President of the Hanoi Federation of Labor, noted that global and regional developments remain rapid and complex, strategic competition is intensifying and supply chain disruptions persist.
Production and business activities in some sectors continue to face difficulties and the livelihoods and jobs of a segment of workers have been affected. However, under the leadership of the Party, the strong direction of the State, the coordinated engagement of the entire political system and the persistent efforts of workers and employees, enterprises have largely maintained stability and are gradually recovering and developing.
In that broader context, trade unions across Hanoi have continued to revamp their operations, shifting a stronger focus to the grassroots and placing union members and workers at the center of their activities. Support programs have become more practical, while efforts to protect workers’ lawful rights and interests have grown more effective. Tet care initiatives, including the Trade Union Tet Market, have emerged as a key source of timely assistance and morale support for workers, particularly those in difficult circumstances.
The "Trade Union Tet Market 2026" opens a series of Tet care activities organized by Hanoi's trade unions. The market space is filled with spring colors and features 50 booths offering hundreds of essential items for workers' daily lives such as food, household goods, clothing and Tet necessities. These are provided by participating enterprises and partners at preferential prices significantly lower than market levels.

Notably, the program provides 2,400 shopping vouchers and "zero-dong" gift packages for union members and workers facing hardships. For many, the Tet Market is not only a place to shop but also a space for sharing and connection, reflecting care and encouragement and helping them welcome a more complete Spring.
Each booth at the Tet Market serves as a bridge of solidarity linking the capital's trade union organization with enterprises and workers. Each gift presented carries early Tet wishes and heartfelt encouragement, helping workers feel warmer, more confident and more committed to their enterprises and to the trade union.
With the principle that all union members and workers should have a Tet and enjoy Tet, during the 2026 Lunar New Year period, trade unions across Hanoi will continue to roll out a wide range of practical support activities.
These include programs such as "Tet Reunion and Gratitude to the Party" and the Trade Union Tet Market, visits and the distribution of 83,000 gift packages to union members and workers in difficult circumstances. The Hanoi Federation of Labor will also support 5,500 bus tickets for workers and organize transportation for 1,200 workers from the High-Tech Zones and Industrial Zones Trade Union to return home safely and conveniently for Tet.
Thang added that on February 7 and 8, 2026, the Hanoi Federation of Labor will continue organizing the "Tet Reunion and Gratitude to the Party" and Trade Union Tet Market programs at the Vietnam–Soviet Friendship Labor Cultural Palace for 3,600 union members and workers. This aims to expand coverage and further spread the spirit of mutual support and solidarity among the capital's workforce.
Affirming the responsibility and role of trade union organization, Nguyen Van Thang stressed that Hanoi's trade unions are committed to continuing to stand alongside workers at construction sites, workshops and offices. The commitment extends beyond today's Tet to jobs, income, living standards and the long-term future of workers.
Within the program, in addition to discounted shopping activities, hundreds of union members and workers in difficult circumstances received meaningful gifts from the Hanoi Federation of Labor. Earlier, many workers also took part in a lucky draw organized by the High-Tech Zones and Industrial Zones Trade Union, creating moments of surprise and joy in the final days of the year.
The Trade Union Tet Market not only brings the flavor of Spring early to Hanoi's workers but also vividly reflects the role, responsibility and care of the trade union organization in protecting and supporting workers. From solidarity-filled booths to shared gifts, the joy of Spring has been multiplied, helping each worker feel more confident and connected as they step into the new year with renewed spirit and momentum.
