10:00 AM, Wed October 07, 2020

VGP – By 2025, the tourism industry will basically become a spearhead economic sector of Ha Noi, contributing to strongly promoting the development of other sectors and areas.

The aforementioned goal has been set out by the Ha Noi People’s Committee in its newly issued plan to implement the Viet Nam Tourism Development Strategy until 2030 in the capital.

In addition, the city will develop a modern and professional tourism industry with high quality, efficiency and competitiveness, proactively grasp development trends and promote international integration, and utilize scientific and technological advances and high-quality human resources as breakthrough factors for tourism development.

Under the plan, Ha Noi will strive to serve 35 to 39 million arrivals of visitors by 2025, including 8 to 9 million international arrivals, with total revenues from tourists expected to reach VND151 trillion (US$6.52 billion).

By 2030, the tourism industry will really become a spearhead economic sector of the capital, serving 48 to 49 million tourist arrivals, including 13 to 14 million foreign arrivals, and raking in VND270-300 trillion (US$11.67-12.97 billion) in revenues from tourists.

To realize the aforementioned goals, the Ha Noi People’s Committee has proposed six solutions, including continuing to renovate thinking in tourism development, upgrading tourism infrastructure and mobilizing resources for tourism development, and developing high-quality tourism products in the areas of travel, transportation and cuisine.

In the near future, the municipal People’s Committee will speed up the implementation of tourism development projects in the city, as well as building high-quality tourist sites for widespread replication and developing new tourism products, such as medical tourism, healthcare, community-based agro-tourism, educational tourism and experience tourism for students.

Attention will also be paid to implementing projects to develop smart tourism and upgrading telecom infrastructure at tourist destinations in order to promote the application of information technology and e-commerce in tourism promotion and business.
