On January 28, Working Group No. 14 of the Hanoi Party Committee inspected preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils for the 2026–2031 term in Van Dinh, Hoa Xa, Ung Hoa and Ung Thien communes.

Tran Dinh Canh, member of the Hanoi Party Standing Committee and Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission, led the delegation.

At the meeting, the working group briefed local authorities on key election requirements and important points in implementing election procedures, including personnel work, candidate dossiers and voter meetings with People's Council candidates.

Discussions also covered communication and decoration efforts, which localities have carried out consistently to create a positive atmosphere among officials, Party members and residents ahead of the election.

The working group addressed advantages and challenges, suggested responses to potential situations and discussed handling complaints during the election process to ensure safety and legal compliance.

Reports showed that communes have announced decisions on electoral units and polling stations.

Van Dinh has six electoral units with 28 polling stations, Ung Hoa has six units with 50 stations, Ung Thien has five units with 29 stations and Hoa Xa has six units with 30 stations. All communes reported progress in line with election law requirements.

Localities also cited difficulties in compiling and reviewing voter lists based on the national population database, as data extraction does not always reflect population changes. Accessing and adjusting population data also remains challenging.

Concluding the meeting, Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Internal Affairs Commission Tran Dinh Canh praised the communes for proactive, responsible and close implementation of election tasks by Party committees, steering committees and election committees.

He urged communes to strengthen communication, visual decoration and inspection of voter list posting sites, polling stations and consultation conferences.

Candidate dossiers and voter lists must be complete and accurate to avoid omissions and safeguard citizens' voting rights, he said.

He also reminded communes to carefully organize consultation conferences and meetings with candidates for the National Assembly and People’s Councils, ensure unified and engaging communication, and provide thorough training for election teams and vote-counting staff.

Canh said that printing work must follow regulations and timelines for candidate and voter lists.

He stressed the need to maintain public order and security, raise voter awareness of rights and obligations and ensure the upcoming election succeeds.
