On February 5, Vu Dai Thang, Party Central Committee member, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, received and worked with a delegation from CRRC Dalian Co Ltd of China, led by General Director Cao Zhongde.
Opening the meeting, Chairman Thang said Hanoi is accelerating the construction of urban railway lines as well as the North–South connecting railway, making the meeting with CRRC Dalian a valuable opportunity to strengthen cooperation and outline new coordination directions.
In response, General Director Zhongde thanked Hanoi People's Committee leaders for their continued attention and support for CRRC Dalian.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on future cooperation directions.
Reporting on CRRC Dalian's activities over the past year, Zhongde said the company, with a history of more than 120 years, serves as a core unit of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation, specializing in manufacturing and after-sales services for locomotives and rolling stock for urban railways.

He noted that CRRC Dalian now operates in 33 countries and territories, employs more than 10,000 staff and recorded revenue of US$3 billion in 2025.
Its main products range from diesel, electric and hybrid locomotives to urban rail vehicles using multiple energy sources and high-speed trains under 250 km per hour.
Based on guidance from senior leaders of both countries, in November 2024 CRRC Dalian signed a memorandum of understanding with Vietnam Railways Corporation covering railway cooperation, including personnel training and research into building a railway industrial complex in Vietnam.
Currently, CRRC Dalian has also been designated by CRRC and the Chinese government as the main unit responsible for supplying rolling stock for the Lao Cai–Hanoi–Hai Phong railway and two China–Vietnam border-connecting railway lines.
The company is coordinating with Vietnamese partners to develop a railway industrial complex project in Hanoi and closely follow urban railway projects in the city, with implementation progressing smoothly.
On that basis, Zhongde affirmed that CRRC Dalian values and hopes to participate in Hanoi's projects, especially in infrastructure construction, human resource training, technical exchange, technology transfer and related fields.
CRRC Dalian leaders proposed strengthening exchanges, sharing experience and studying ways to promote localization strategies for national and urban railway projects, aiming for sustainable development.
They also expressed hope that the Hanoi city government will continue supporting the company's activities.
=Impressed by CRRC Dalian's achievements, Chairman Thang praised the company for earning the trust of many Vietnamese partners in the railway sector.

He said Hanoi is revising its railway infrastructure planning, including standards and technologies, to ensure economic efficiency and scale advantages in urban railway development.
The Hanoi People's Committee leader suggested that CRRC Dalian support the development of common railway standards for Hanoi and Vietnam to facilitate smoother project implementation.
He also expressed hope that CRRC Dalian will promote production activities in Hanoi by increasing localization rates and technology transfer, affirming that this direction will receive strong support and cooperation from the city government.
Chairman Thang expressed confidence that, with its long history and current efforts, CRRC Dalian will continue cooperating effectively with Hanoi and Vietnamese enterprises, achieving positive and sustainable development.
