Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang presents Party General Secretary To Lam's Tet gift to officers of Ba Dinh Ward Police Station.
On February 14, Party Central Committee member, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang visited, inspected duty operations and extended Lunar New Year greetings to officers and soldiers of Ba Dinh Ward Police Station.
Lieutenant General Nguyen Thanh Tung, member of the Standing Board of the Hanoi Party Committee and Director of the Hanoi Police Department, joined the visit.
Reporting to the chairman, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Cuong, Chief of Ba Dinh Ward Police, said the unit followed directives from the city police leadership and local authorities and successfully completed all assigned tasks in 2025 and early 2026.
In 2025, the unit earned the "Determined to Win" title and received a certificate of merit from the city. On February 4, 2026, the President awarded it the Third-Class Fatherland Protection Order in recognition of its efforts to maintain security and order at the grassroots level.
During the 2026 Lunar New Year, the ward police deployed plans in advance and assigned 100% of personnel to duty to ensure absolute safety for residents celebrating Tet.
The unit also launched the "Three Best" emulation campaign — best discipline, strongest loyalty and closest ties with the people — applied to daily work.
Addressing two pressing issues, urban order and traffic congestion, Cuong said the ward has piloted an urban order model. Officers maintain constant patrols, strictly handle sidewalk and roadway encroachment and restore pedestrian space. Former traffic hot spots now operate smoothly without prolonged rush-hour congestion.
These results reflect the discipline of the urban governance model and the effectiveness of the "Three Best" campaign. They provide a foundation for the ward police to retain the "Determined to Win" title and ensure a safe, civilized environment for residents.
Chairman Vu Dai Thang speaks at the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Vu Dai Thang praised the unit's achievements.
He said the Third-Class Fatherland Protection Order demonstrates the effectiveness of the city's urban governance pilot model, with ward police playing a central role.
Looking ahead, he urged the ward police to focus on resolving traffic congestion and urban order issues.
Beyond safeguarding Tet celebrations, the unit must lead efforts to restore urban discipline, eliminate traffic hot spots and prevent sidewalk encroachment that causes congestion and harms the city's appearance, he stressed.
He also instructed the ward police to proactively protect political security and prepare for the upcoming elections of National Assembly deputies and People's Council representatives for the 2026–2031 term.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year, Thang wished all officers and soldiers continued success, urging them to uphold the "Three Best" spirit and remain a steel shield protecting the capital's peace.
