The event is one of Hanoi’s signature cultural and artistic activities in the series welcoming the 2026 New Year. It is organized by the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, in coordination with Vietsoftpro and related partners, to serve residents of the capital as well as domestic and international visitors.

Overview of the event.
The opening ceremony was attended by Vu Thu Ha and Truong Viet Dung, both Vice Chairpersons of the Hanoi People's Committee.
The digital exhibition space is designed to renew approaches to preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of Thang Long–Hanoi through the application of digital technology and contemporary art.
It represents a model aligned with innovation and digital transformation in the cultural sector and contributes to the implementation of the Politburo’s Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation, and national digital transformation.

Overview of the event.
In her opening remarks, Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said the exhibition carries practical significance as Hanoi is actively implementing central and city-level policies on cultural industry development.
She noted that the event promotes creativity while renewing approaches to heritage preservation and promotion, in line with digital transformation and deeper international integration.

According to Le Thi Anh Mai, the exhibition adopts a new approach by using light and technology as a storytelling medium. It guides visitors through the historical and cultural continuum of Thang Long–Hanoi, from deep-rooted memories to today’s creative rhythms and future visions.
Through exhibition spaces offering interactive experiences, virtual reality, and visual contrasts between past and present, heritage is brought to life through movement, sound, and emotion, creating a natural connection between the past, present and future.

She added that the exhibition offers the public and visitors an appealing new cultural destination while providing fresh experiences that help raise awareness, affection and responsibility for safeguarding and promoting cultural heritage values.
The model also provides a practical foundation for Hanoi to expand creative cultural exhibition formats, consistent with its orientation to become a UNESCO Creative City.
Unlike traditional exhibitions, the space is built around the concept of "living heritage," where visitors do not simply observe but actively participate and engage through multisensory experiences.
The entire exhibition applies a range of modern digital technologies, including immersive 3D mapping, kinetic LED installations, interactive walls, virtual reality, multi-layer projections and motion-sensing technology.

Overview of the event.
Within the exhibition, light is not merely a tool for illumination but serves as a central artistic material that guides emotions and connects layers of space and time from the past to the present and the future. The use of technology is carefully selected and moderated to ensure aesthetic harmony, cultural depth and suitability for the heritage setting in the heart of the capital.
The digital exhibition is organized into a series of interconnected thematic experiences, forming a continuous journey through Hanoi. These include the kinetic LED zone titled "The Radiant Heart," the silk-based immersive mapping area "A Thousand Years of Thang Long," the "Creative City – Hanoi 2050" zone, a 360-degree Hanoi virtual reality experience, the "Window of Time" installation and the Hang Trong folk painting space themed "Old Soul of a Traditional Tet."
This event is opened free of charge to residents and visitors as part of Hanoi's New Year 2026 celebrations.
