Tran Sy Thanh, Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, on January 20 presented 70-year and 80-year Party membership medals to two senior Party members in Hoang Mai District.
The honorees were Trinh Binh Dy, a 99-years-old pre-revolutionary cadre with 80 years of membership and currently active in the Party Committee of Residential Groups 11+12, Tuong Mai Ward, and Nguyen Ngoc Duong, an 89-year-old cadre with 70 years of membership, currently active in Party Committee of Residential Group 20, Tuong Mai Ward.
This occasion marked a total of 501 Party members in Hoang Mai District receiving the medals in celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2025). In Hanoi, more than 9,300 Party members are honored on this occasion.
"The presentation of these medals is a great honor and pride for the veterans, the Party Committee of Hoang Mai District, and the entire Party organization of the city," Chairman Thanh said.
"The recipients are shining examples of the virtues and fortitude of Communist soldiers who, regardless of their roles, have consistently fulfilled their responsibilities entrusted by the Party and the nation."
"Despite their advanced age, they actively participate in local activities with a sense of positivity, responsibility, and exemplary spirit, contributing meaningfully to political stability, security, and socio-economic growth in the district and city over the years," he said.

The chairman urged the honored members to continue upholding their revolutionary virtues, pioneer spirit, and exemplary conduct while encouraging younger generations to abide by the Party's and State's policies and laws.
He hoped that senior Party members would engage in building local Party organizations and authorities and educating younger generations about the revolutionary traditions, thereby making Hanoi a prosperous, cultured, and modern city.
He also called on the Hoang Mai District authorities to strengthen unity, prioritize Party building and governance, and successfully organize the Party congresses at all levels for the 2025–2030 term.
"It is important that the district achieve strong socio-economic and defense outcomes in 2025 and beyond."
The Chairman expected that the district authorities would continue to take care of all Party members, particularly senior ones.
"Local authorities should listen to and incorporate feedback from the veterans to make Hoang Mai District and the capital increasingly prosperous and advanced," Thanh said.
In his part, Nguyen Xuan Linh, Secretary of the Hoang Mai District Party Committee, expressed gratitude. He pledged to implement the directives from Chairman Thanh.
The district will translate these directives into tangible actions in 2025 and the following years, aiming to maintain its status as a unit recently awarded the First-Class Labor Order by the Party and State, and recognized by the Hanoi Party Standing Committee for its outstanding performance in 2024, he said.
