The event was also joined by Politburo Member, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, and Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Party Central Committee Member and Chief of the Party Central Office Pham Gia Tuc; and leaders of central agencies.
Hanoi delegates included Politburo Member and Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc; Hanoi Deputy Secretary Nguyen Trong Dong; and Standing Committee Member and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi Bui Huyen Mai, together with more than 1,000 residents representing over 6,400 households in the ward.
Community upholds unity and mutual support
Thuong Cat Fatherland Front Chairwoman Van Thuy Hoa reported that as one of the 126 new communes and wards established and officially operating under the two-tier local government model since July 1, 2025, Thuong Cat Ward preserves the cultural identity of the Red River riverside area, maintaining ancient village spaces, folk beliefs, and longstanding festivals.
Traditional craft villages, old houses, riverside agricultural activities, and rural markets create a unique cultural landscape. With its location on the left bank of the Red River, the ward serves as a transitional zone between the central urban core and the industrial–logistics development corridor along the river and the northern peri-urban region.
Notably, the ongoing Thuong Cat Bridge project—linking both riverbanks—is expected to foster new development for northern Hanoi.
The ward comprises 18 residential groups with more than 6,400 households and over 25,000 residents, most of whom work in agriculture, small-scale production, or service activities, along with a portion of public employees. The community maintains a strong tradition of solidarity and mutual support.
The ward’s Party organization comprises 40 grassroots Party units, including 32 branches across local agencies and schools, and 18 residential Party branches. The ward also has 18 Fatherland Front working committees with a total of 194 members, organized in alignment with each residential group.
Under the leadership of Party committees at all levels, and with support from local authorities and direct guidance from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, the Fatherland Front system in the ward has operated cohesively and effectively.
Fatherland Front working committees and socio-political organizations across residential groups have strengthened community unity, mobilizing residents to actively participate in patriotic emulation movements, community campaigns, and efforts to fulfill assigned tasks.

Strengthening unity so no one is left behind
Delivering his remarks, the General Secretary affirmed that the Great National Solidarity Festival is a meaningful occasion to celebrate the enduring strength of unity—a priceless heritage and the driving force behind every victory and achievement of the nation.

President Ho Chi Minh reminded that “Unity, unity, great unity; success, success, great success.” This message is a timeless truth and a guiding principle—an appeal from the nation’s soul and heritage to every citizen.
He praised Thuong Cat Ward’s 2025 accomplishments and expressed confidence that with unity between the Party and the people, local living standards would continue to improve and the community would grow stronger and more prosperous.
He emphasized that the power of solidarity begins with simple, humane values—trust and compassion—particularly evident in times of natural disasters when the nation comes together.

He highlighted the active participation of citizens in law-making and contributing feedback to the draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress. More than three million opinions were submitted during one month of public consultation—an important demonstration of unity between the Party and the people.
The General Secretary stated that the nation faces major milestones guiding its path toward development, prosperity, and long-term success—marking 100 years under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam in 2030 and 100 years since the founding of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in 2045.
He emphasized the need for unity to address institutional bottlenecks, unlock resources, share risks and expand opportunities, and ensure that no one is left behind.

The General Secretary affirmed that achieving measurable results requires implementing seven specific groups of tasks, highlighting the importance of discipline and integrity.
He stressed strict adherence to the rule of law and determined efforts in preventing and combating corruption, wastefulness, and misconduct, with the principle of no forbidden zones and no exceptions, where all citizens are equal before the law. These efforts, he noted, must be carried out resolutely, persistently, and uncompromisingly.
The General Secretary added that a streamlined administrative apparatus and coordinated three-tier governance system are essential to serving the people. Two-tier local governments must operate seamlessly, with digital transformation and green transition as core objectives, and employment as the foundation of social stability, well-being, and happiness.
He emphasized reorganizing administrative units alongside staff downsizing and administrative reform; digitizing public services; and placing residents and businesses at the center—asserting that where convenience improves and social costs decrease, unity and public consensus increase.
During the festival, the General Secretary called on citizens nationwide, compatriots abroad, and officers and soldiers throughout the country to uphold and further strengthen the great national solidarity.
“Turn this spirit into action today—within families and residential groups, in factories and fields, classrooms and hospitals, on the seas and across the digital sphere—for the beloved nation of Vietnam, for the people’s happiness, and for the goals of 2030 and the aspirations of 2045,” he emphasized.
At the event, General Secretary Lam presented the statue “President Ho Chi Minh Visits His Homeland” and offered flowers and gifts to officials, Party members, and residents of Thuong Cat Ward. He also presented gifts to outstanding policy-beneficiary families in the ward.
On this occasion, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Duy Ngoc presented gifts to exemplary households.
