Many of Hanoi's key infrastructure projects are being expedited, according to the Hanoi Statistics Office.

Among them, the Ring Road No.4 – Capital Region project is a nationally significant initiative with a crucial impact not only on Hanoi but also on neighboring localities.

The road spans a total length of 112.8km, passing through Hanoi and two provinces of Hung Yen and Bac Ninh, connecting the Hanoi-Lao Cai and Noi Bai-Ha Long expressways.

The total investment for phase one of the project is estimated at VND85.8 trillion (US$3.4 billion), with land clearance covering 1,386ha. The project includes the construction of three major bridges crossing the Red River and Duong River, and eight interchanges.

After more than a year since its commencement, the route is taking shape, with 19.6% of the allocated budget disbursed.

The Ring Road No.1 project, specifically the Hoang Cau-Voi Phuc section (Phase 1), spans 2.3km with a 50-meter-wide cross-section, and includes two overpasses at the Lang Ha-Nguyen Chi Thanh intersection.

The route starts at the intersection of Cat Linh-La Thanh-Yen Lang streets in Dong Da District, and ends at the Voi Phuc interchange in Ba Dinh District.

The total investment for phase one is over VND7.2 trillion ($283 million) from the city's budget, including VND627 billion ($24.7 million) for construction and VND5.8 trillion ($228.4 million) for land clearance.

To date, 47.4% of the allocated capital has been disbursed.

Another major project is the renovation and upgrade of National Highway 6's Ba La-Xuan Mai section, which stretches 21.7km from Ba La intersection in Ha Dong District to Xuan Mai Town in Chuong My District.

The road will have 4-6 lanes, a designed speed of 80 km/h, and a roadbed width expanded to 50-60 meters at its completion. This project will complete the radial road network connecting National Highway 21A, the Ho Chi Minh Road, and the Ring Road No.4 – Capital Region.

The total investment for the project is VND8.1 trillion ($319 million) from the city's budget, with more than VND5.1 trillion ($201 million) allocated for land clearance and VND2.9 trillion ($114 million) for construction and equipment procurement. So far, 12.9% of the planned budget has been disbursed.

The Thang Long Boulevard Expressway project, connecting National Highway 21 to the Hanoi-Hoa Binh Expressway, spans 6.7 km.

The route begins at the connection between Thang Long Boulevard and National Highway 21 in Thach Hoa Commune, Thach That District, and ends at the Hoa Lac-Hoa Binh Road.

The road cross-section ranges from 120m to 180m in width. The total investment for the project is VND5.2 trillion ($205 million), with 18.2% of the allocated budget disbursed to date.

The Yen Xa Wastewater Treatment System project has a total investment of VND16.3 trillion ($642 million), of which 84% comes from Official Development Assistance (ODA) funds provided by the Japanese Government.

The project includes a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 270,000m3 per day and night, along with a sewer system collecting wastewater from the rivers of To Lich, Lu, Set and Nhue, serving an area of up to 4,874ha.

The system for diverting wastewater from the To Lich River to the treatment plant has been largely completed. The wastewater treatment plant is expected to commence trial operations in the first half of 2025.
