Key areas of the plan include a comprehensive review and systematization of legal documents related to the prevention and combat of human trafficking.
Standing Deputy Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son on May 14 signed and issued Plan No.133/KH-UBND, outlining the city's strategy to implement the Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking 2024.
The plan aims to clearly define tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities for relevant departments and organizations to ensure a unified, effective, and efficient rollout of the new law across the city.
It also sets out mechanisms for coordination among municipal and local authorities, while enhancing awareness and accountability among public officials and the general public in enforcing the law.
Key areas of the plan include a comprehensive review and systematization of legal documents related to the prevention and combat of human trafficking.
Departments, agencies, and local authorities, along with the People's Procuracy, People's Court, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi, are tasked with reviewing existing legal documents under their jurisdiction.
Based on their findings, they are to update, replace, repeal, or propose new legal documents to align with the provisions of the 2024 law, ensuring consistency and legal coherence.
The plan also prioritizes widespread dissemination and education on the 2024 Anti-Human Trafficking Law and its guiding regulations.
This includes organizing training sessions for relevant officials, preparing legal materials for law enforcement personnel directly involved in anti-trafficking efforts, and publishing the full text of the law and related documents on official websites, national legal databases, and through other appropriate channels.
To reach a broader audience, the city will promote public education on human trafficking prevention using a variety of media formats.
Digital transformation tools will be actively applied, and local press agencies will be engaged to produce dedicated programs and articles that help raise public awareness.
Under the plan, the Hanoi Police Department will lead coordination and monitoring efforts to ensure effective dissemination of the law.
The Department of Health will take the lead in organizing training and communication programs focused on prevention techniques, safety skills to avoid falling victim to trafficking, and available policies to support trafficking survivors in accordance with the law.
The city emphasizes the need for unified leadership under the Chairman of the People's Committee, as well as close, effective cooperation among departments, sectors, local authorities, and related organizations.
All agencies involved are expected to actively and proactively carry out the plan according to the assigned timeline and content, ensuring both quality and cost-effectiveness.
The Hanoi People's Committee will regularly inspect, guide, and resolve any difficulties that arise during implementation to ensure the smooth and timely enforcement of the law.
