HN to have additional three metro lines by 2025

VGP – The Capital City of Ha Noi will continue to invest in building three metro lines by 2025.

This is part of Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung’s direction for investors to propose urban railway lines in Ha Noi by 2025.

Accordingly, the Ha Noi municipal People’s Committee was asked to collect comments from the Ministries of National Defense, Planning and Investment, Transport, and Finance to construct three metro lines.

Specifically, the city will set investment options for Line 5 connecting Van Cao and Hoa Lac; Line 2 Tran Dung Dao and Thuong Dinh; and Line 4 Me Linh-Sai Dong-Lien Ha in line with the current regulations.

So far, the city is developing four other metro lines namely Cat Linh-Ha Dong; Nhon-Ha Noi railway station, Thang Long-Tran Hung Dao; Ngoc Hoi-Yen Vien.

Earlier, the Ha Noi urban railway management board (MBR) under Ministry of Transport reported that 90% of the Cat Linh-Ha Dong urban railway project has been completed. The pro ject will be put on trial this September and put into operation at the year end. The Nhon-Ha Noi railway station project will be soon finalized for underground trial and be functional in 2021./.
