Vietlott makes first debut in HN

VGP – Viet Nam Lottery Company (Vietlott) has launched its Mega 6/45 lottery, a Lotto-style game with a minimum jackpot of VND12 billion (US$545,000) on December 5 in Ha Noi.

Mega 6/45 lottery is a product developed by Berjaya Gia Thinh, a joint venture between Vietlott and Malaysia’s Berjaya Corporation Berhad, which is 51% owned by Berjaya Lottery Viet Nam Ltd.

In November, Vietlott was accused of overcharging for its lottery tickets, and for illegally printing out numbers in advance and selling them at unregistered locations as a tactic to boost sales.

It was reported that the retailer sold preprinted numbers for VND12,000 (US$0.54), higher than the official price of VND10,000.

As scheduled, Vietlott will launch its Mega 6/45 lottery in other localities, including Hai Phong and Quang Ninh, bringing the total areas to 12 provinces and cities in 2016 in accordance with the Ministry of Finance’s approval ./.
