On January 27, Nhan Dan Newspaper, in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, announced the art program "Light Concert – Welcome New Year 2026".
This large-scale cultural and artistic event celebrates the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam and welcomes the Lunar New Year of the Horse 2026, helping spread national unity, confidence and aspirations for development in a new era.
Highlighting the creative capital and promoting cultural industries
Building on the success of "Light Concert – Welcome New Year 2025", the 2026 program continues to serve as the opening highlight of the Hanoi International Light Festival.
The event promotes Hanoi's image as a Creative City while stimulating tourism, the night-time economy and cultural industries.
With the theme "Vibrant Light", light serves as the central artistic language, symbolizing belief, unity, renewal and the nation's aspiration to rise.
The flow of light unfolds as an expressive journey linking tradition, the present and the future, reflecting the vitality and development momentum of the country in a new period.
At the announcement ceremony, journalist Le Quoc Minh, member of the Party Central Committee, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Publicity, Education and Mass Mobilization and President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, said the program has been elevated in scale, artistic content and message.
Through the harmonious combination of music, light, technology and heritage, the program offers a modern and engaging artistic experience while spreading sustainable cultural values and inspiring pride, solidarity and national aspirations in a new era.
Nhan Dan Newspaper hopes that, together with Hanoi, the program will continue to serve as a signature cultural highlight at the start of the year, promoting the capital as a creative, friendly and culturally rich city, while delivering emotional experiences to residents and visitors.
Speaking at the ceremony, Le Thi Anh Mai, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports, said Hanoi is gradually moving toward becoming a city of cultural events, where large-scale, creative and safe art programs play a vital role.

For "Light Concert – Welcome New Year 2026", the department has closely coordinated with relevant units in organization, healthcare and security to ensure the event's success.
She noted that a series of events celebrating the 14th National Party Congress and welcoming the new year reflects Hanoi's determination to enrich cultural life for its people.
The city hopes Nhan Dan Newspaper will continue to accompany Hanoi by contributing high-quality and distinctive programs, helping the capital affirm its position as a national arts destination, Mai said.
Combining music, light, technology and heritage
"Light Concert – Welcome New Year 2026" will take place at the August Revolution Square and the Hanoi Opera House, a complex of exceptional historical and cultural values that form an integral part of the artistic setting.
Modern lighting and performance technologies will highlight the architecture while creating a fresh visual experience for audiences.
Dang Le Minh Tri, Creative Director and General Director of the program, said the show has been designed as a comprehensive artistic experience in which music, light, technology and Hanoi's heritage spaces jointly tell a story.
This year marks the first time a large-scale, complex and highly dynamic performance technology system will be deployed directly on the stage in front of the Hanoi Opera House façade.
A programmable LED mesh system with sliding rails will allow the heritage architecture to unfold layer by layer through emotional transitions.
A flying stage will create a multi-level performance space, while special technical elements will lift visual structures into the air, expanding visual depth and sensory perception.
These staging solutions closely connect with the narrative flow to create unprecedented moments, placing audiences at the center of the experience.
The program unfolds in three chapters, blending classical, folk, contemporary and modern music, guiding audiences from the depth of tradition and belief to fresh, youthful beauty, and culminating in a radiant, optimistic spirit that reflects a rapidly developing Vietnam.
