Three delegates from the Hanoi Party Committee elected to the 14th Party Central Committee

The list of officials elected to the 14th-term Party Central Committee was announced on the evening of January 22.

Accordingly, the 14th National Congress elected a full slate of 200 members to the 14th-term Party Central Committee as approved, including 180 full members and 20 alternate members.

Three delegates from the Hanoi Party Committee were elected:

- Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Politburo member of the 13th term and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. 

 - Vu Dai Thang, member of the 13th-term Party Central Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee. 

- Nguyen Trong Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

* Nguyen Duy Ngoc, a Politburo member of the 13th term and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, born in 1964, has held many senior positions in the People's Public Security forces and central agencies. In November 2016, he was assigned as Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police under the Ministry of Public Security.

In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Major General. In August 2018, he was appointed Director of the Police Department for Investigation of Corruption, Economic Crimes and Smuggling. On August 15, 2019, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security and concurrently served as Deputy Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee from December 2019.

In January 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was elected to the 13th-term Party Central Committee and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.

Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee. 

In December 2023, he became a Standing Board member of the Central Public Security Party Committee and was promoted to the rank of Senior Lieutenant General while serving as Deputy Minister of Public Security. In June 2024, he was appointed Head of the Party Central Office.

On August 16, 2024, he was elected as an additional member of the Party Central Secretariat of the 13th term.

On January 23, 2025, he was elected as an additional member of the Politburo of the 13th term and appointed Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission.

On November 4, 2025, following a Politburo assignment decision, he officially joined the Hanoi Party Committee Executive Committee and Standing Board and assumed the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 18th term for 2025–2030.

Vu Dai Thang, a member of the 13th-term Party Central Committee and Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee, was born in 1975. With a diverse and in-depth educational background, he has progressed from grassroots roles to key leadership positions at both central and local levels and held several important posts at the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

From July 2011 to March 2014, he served as Director General and Party Cell Secretary of the Economic Zones Management Department at the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

Vu Dai Thang, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

From March 2014 to March 2018, he was appointed Vice Chairman of the Ha Nam Provincial People's Committee on April 8, 2014, and was elected an alternate member of the 12th-term Party Central Committee in January 2016.

From March 2018 to July 2020, he served as a member of the Party Civil Affairs Committee and Deputy Minister of Planning and Investment. From August 2020 to January 2021, he was assigned as Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee.

From February 2021 to October 2024, he served as a member of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee. From October 2024 to November 2025, he served as Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee.

On November 28, 2025, following a Politburo decision on assignment, he joined the Hanoi Party Committee Executive Committee and Standing Board and assumed the post of Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 2025–2030 term. At the 28th session of the Hanoi People's Council, he was elected Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee for the 2021–2026 term.

Nguyen Trong Dong, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, born in 1969, has spent many years working and advancing within Hanoi's specialized agencies and has been entrusted with several key positions in the capital.

From September 2013 to December 2020, he served as Director of the Hanoi Department of Natural Resources and Environment and was elected to the Standing Board of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 17th term in October 2020.

From December 2020, he served as a Standing Board member of the Hanoi Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee.

On October 16, 2025, at the 18th Hanoi Party Congress, he was elected to the Hanoi Party Committee Executive Committee and at its first meeting was elected Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

According to the schedule, on January 23, the 14th-term Party Central Committee will hold its first plenary meeting to elect the Politburo, the General Secretary, the Secretariat, the Central Inspection Commission and the Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission for the 14th term.
