Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Truong Viet Dung delivered opening remarks at the press conference.

The press conference was co-chaired by Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh and Hanoi Vice Chairman Truong Viet Dung. Representatives from the Department of Startups and Technology Enterprises, the Hanoi Department of Science and Technology, and more than fifty reporters from central and local media attended on December 3.

TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 will take place along Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Street in Hanoi from December 12-14, 2025.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Truong Viet Dung said Hanoi’s participation in hosting TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 reflects not only the responsibility of the capital but also an opportunity for the city to reaffirm its position as the center of the national startup and innovation ecosystem.

He said holding the festival at Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Street shows Hanoi’s determination to create an open and accessible environment where residents can interact with technology and creativity. He added that this approach aligns with the city’s goal of building an innovation driven capital where science and technology become part of daily life.

Deputy Minister Hoang Minh said TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 will take place at an important moment as the country prepares to review the first year of implementing Politburo Resolution 57 NQ TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation. He said creative startups form a key component of the country’s development orientation in the new period.

In 2025, the Government has focused on building and improving institutions and policies under the spirit of Resolution 57 NQ TW. Several important laws and regulations have been drafted and issued in a short time, including the Law on Science, Technology and Innovation, the Law on Digital Technology Industries, Decree 264 on the national and local venture capital funds, and Decree 268 on recognizing innovation centers, supporting creative startups and identifying innovative entrepreneurs and enterprises to create a more enabling legal framework for startup investment.

The Government has also emphasized the principle that creative startups belong to the entire population. Creative startups are driven by technology, innovation and digital transformation, and they act as catalysts for economic growth and cultural creativity. He said the Government aims to inspire a nationwide spirit of entrepreneurship that accepts risks, learns from failure and nurtures a culture of innovation for fast and sustainable national development.

With that direction, TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 is being designed as an open space event that allows the public to directly interact with new technologies and modern business models. The goal is to spread the entrepreneurial spirit widely and contribute to making Vietnam a creative startup nation.

TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 introduces new formats to enhance openness, connectivity and impact across the innovation ecosystem. This year’s festival highlights the role of state management by announcing new policies, updating ecosystem data and strengthening the public private cooperation model and the market for innovation investment.

A key feature of TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 is the shift from a traditional indoor model to an open space format. The event at Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Street will allow the public to experience new technologies, creative business models and startup support services in an accessible setting.

The festival also focuses on expert level activities such as policy announcements, investment dealmaking, market solutions and spreading the message of the “One Person Enterprise” model. It will welcome international experts, investors and global organizations to its series of specialized workshops, aiming for an open, modern and internationally connected TECHFEST.

TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 is expected to attract more than sixty thousand participants both onsite and online from corporations, startups, investment funds, support organizations, incubators, research institutes, universities, innovation networks, women entrepreneurs, youth entrepreneurs, senior entrepreneurs and representatives of startup ecosystems across Vietnam and six international regions including Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Central Asia, the Middle East, North America and Europe.

Along with the Opening Ceremony and the National Policy Forum, TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 will feature more than ten international workshops, expert dialogues, technology showcases and over twenty events that promote investment connection and business cooperation between domestic and international partners.

The Opening Ceremony will welcome senior leaders of the Party and the State and marks the start of a new period in which Vietnam’s national innovation strategy will be implemented. The ceremony will include the announcement of policies from national and local authorities that aim to promote science, technology, innovation and digital transformation as new drivers of economic growth.

The National Policy Forum and the international cooperation sessions on startup investment will create a space for breakthrough policy discussions. They aim to promote venture investment, economic growth and the attraction of domestic and foreign capital. International experts will share assessments on public private cooperation models in venture investment to address challenges in twin transitions and smart urban development and offer recommendations for shaping national and local policies for Vietnam’s venture capital market.

The final round of the 2025 National Innovative Startup Talent Competition will honor outstanding Vietnamese startups from both inside and outside the country. The competition seeks pioneering businesses that apply science, technology and innovation to address major challenges in the economy and society.

The 2025 final round will bring together the top ten teams selected from hundreds of applications through rigorous and competitive evaluation. Each team will deliver a breakthrough and inspiring presentation that showcases its vision, business model and practical technological solutions.

Throughout the festival, the technology space at Hoan Kiem Lake Pedestrian Street will offer interactive and engaging experiences for the public. Visitors will be able to attend talk shows, join hands on workshops, try instant AI photography, explore AR challenges and take part in creative activities that help connect communities and introduce new technology and innovation trends.

TECHFEST Vietnam 2025 will also host the Exhibition of Innovative Startup Products and Services across four zones that represent the full landscape of Vietnam’s startup ecosystem. These zones include startup and scale up activities, ecosystem building, frontier technology testbeds and the presence of pre unicorns, unicorns and large corporations.

A series of international workshops and expert dialogues will discuss trends and policies, human resources, finance and investment, technology commercialization and knowledge transfer in fields such as artificial intelligence, agriculture, data, green economy and sportech. These sessions will gather more than one hundred experts from government agencies, global corporations, investment funds, research institutes, universities and startups from nearly ten countries including the United States, Korea and the Netherlands.
