Speaking at the nationwide online conference on the deployment of election work for deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term on the morning of February 26, National Assembly Chairman and Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man expressed confidence that with strong determination from Party committees at all levels, close coordination among agencies and organizations within the political system and the unity and active support of the entire population, the election will be successfully organized.

Man noted that based on reports from the Chief of Office of the National Election Council and opinions from the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, sectors and localities, it can be affirmed that election preparations have so far been implemented in a timely, methodical and thorough manner.

Personnel preparation has been carefully conducted to ensure standards, reasonable structure, proactiveness and quality. The application of information technology has been strengthened. Political security and social order and safety have been proactively ensured from an early stage. Complaints and denunciations have decreased compared to the previous term and no complex cases have arisen.

The National Assembly Chairman commended localities such as Ho Chi Minh City for directing early voting plans in certain areas. In Hanoi, the election direction has covered all communes and wards. In particular, through today's nationwide online conference of the National Election Council, Hanoi connected online to all communes and wards across the city.

Emphasizing lessons learned from previous elections, Man stressed that despite thorough preparation, there must be no complacency or negligence. Authorities must closely follow and fully implement the requirements set out in Directive 46 and the conclusions of the Politburo on leadership of the election, Conclusion No. 03 of the Secretariat and Plan No. 02 of the National Election Council.

Regarding key tasks ahead, he requested the effective organization of voter meetings to ensure democracy, equality and transparency, along with continued review of voter lists to ensure no eligible voter is omitted.

He also called for stronger communication efforts before, during and after the election. Central and local media agencies should intensify communication in line with guidance from the Central Commission for Information and Education and Mass Mobilization and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

"The more strictly we implement the process and the sooner we announce the results, the better. It is expected that on April 6, 2026, the first session of the 16th National Assembly will open, followed by the first sessions of local People's Councils. At present, the National Assembly Standing Committee is also preparing for the first session of the 16th National Assembly, including personnel matters and issues to be approved," he said.

He also urged proper settlement of complaints and denunciations within jurisdiction and completion of summarizing results and the verification of the eligibility of elected deputies in accordance with regulations.

Stressing that the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term is a major political event of the country, Man called for continued promotion of responsibility, unity, proactiveness and creativity to ensure its success.

"The success of this election will create an important starting point for building and consolidating the state apparatus for the new term and establish a solid political and social foundation to successfully implement the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress. It is also an occasion to affirm the Party's leadership capacity, the State's management effectiveness and the operational efficiency of the political system," he said, recalling the direction of General Secretary To Lam.

He expressed confidence that with high determination from Party committees, close coordination across the political system and strong public support, the election will be successful.

Concluding the conference, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly and member of the National Election Council Nguyen Thi Thanh affirmed that after a serious and focused working session, the nationwide online conference had successfully completed all contents and the proposed agenda.

Thanh requested central ministries, sectors and localities to absorb the concluding guidance of the National Assembly Chairman and Chairman of the National Election Council and urgently implement follow-up tasks. With only a short time remaining until election day and a large workload nationwide, tasks must be carried out urgently and thoroughly.

"With the close and comprehensive leadership of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo and the Secretariat, along with the active role and close coordination of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the National Election Council, the Government, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, ministries, sectors, localities and relevant agencies, the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People's Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term will be successfully organized," Thanh expressed confidence.
