Noting the significant transformation in Hanoi's urban landscape and infrastructure, Shin said he is confident that cooperation between the two sides will continue to deepen and that both the capital and Vietnam as a whole will achieve major development goals in the coming years.
Welcoming the Lotte chairman's visit, which took place within the framework of the state visit to Vietnam by the South Korean president, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang said the occasion reflects the particularly strong relationship between Vietnam and South Korea.
Over the years, Lotte Group has built firm trust with both the Hanoi administration and residents, he said, stressing that the group is not only a major investor but also an important part of the capital's modern urban identity.
Acknowledging the group's contributions, Thang referred to landmark projects including Lotte Center Hanoi and Lotte Mall West Lake Hanoi, saying these symbolic developments demonstrate the close bond between Vietnam and South Korea while reinforcing Hanoi's position as one of the country's leading destinations for investment cooperation.
At the meeting, the Chairman of Hanoi said the city is entering a new phase of development, aimed at becoming more civilized and modern.

In particular, Hanoi has identified the Red River landscape boulevard axis as a new development symbol, alongside a clear roadmap for urbanization, infrastructure upgrades, and urban renewal. This, he noted, creates significant scope for expanded cooperation with South Korean partners, which possess strong expertise in these areas.

Against that backdrop, Thang said Hanoi hopes Lotte Group will continue to prioritize cooperation and accompany the capital in its areas of strength, including commercial center development, financial centers, smart urban projects, and public transportation, thereby creating more meaningful symbols of bilateral cooperation and helping elevate Vietnam–South Korea ties.
He added that Hanoi, together with its departments and agencies, remains committed to facilitating investment and development cooperation for South Korean partners, including Lotte Group.
Expressing satisfaction with the city's vision, Shin Dong Bin thanked Hanoi authorities for their support for Lotte's projects in the city over the years.
After more than 30 years of presence in Vietnam, he said, Lotte Group has maintained a steady stream of investment and is preparing a wide range of plans to expand its core business areas, with a strong determination to contribute to Hanoi's development and to the future growth partnership between the two countries.
