Nguyen Duy Ngoc, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee and a member of the 13th-term Politburo, was elected to the 14th-term Politburo.

Born in 1964, Ngoc has held many senior positions within the People's Public Security forces and central agencies.
In November 2016, he was appointed Deputy Director General of the General Department of Police under the Ministry of Public Security.
In 2017, he was promoted to the rank of Major General. In August 2018, he assumed the post of Director of the Police Department for Investigation of Corruption, Economic Crimes and Smuggling. On August 15, 2019, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Public Security and concurrently served as Deputy Chairman of the National Traffic Safety Committee from December 2019.
In January 2021, at the 13th National Congress of the Party, he was elected to the 13th-term Party Central Committee and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General.
In December 2023, he became a Standing Board member of the Central Public Security Party Committee and was promoted to the rank of Senior Lieutenant General while serving as Deputy Minister of Public Security. In June 2024, he was assigned and appointed Head of the Party Central Office.
On August 16, 2024, he was elected as an additional member of the Party Central Secretariat of the 13th term.
On January 23, 2025, he was elected as an additional member of the 13th-term Politburo and appointed Chairman of the Central Inspection Commission.
On November 4, 2025, following a Politburo assignment decision, he officially joined the Hanoi Party Committee Executive Committee and Standing Board and assumed the position of Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee for the 18th term for the 2025–2030 period.
