During the working session, Nguyen Tien Da, Director of the Hanoi Museum, reported that from January 1, 2025, the museum has implemented an admission fee of approximately US$1.20 per visitor. Admission remains free for children under 16 and individuals with severe disabilities, in accordance with Resolution No. 44/2024/NQ-HDND issued on December 10, 2024, by the Hanoi People's Council regarding entrance fees for cultural sites, historical monuments, and museums in the city.
Additionally, Hanoi Museum offers a 50 percent discount on admission fees for eligible policy beneficiaries, senior citizens, individuals with moderate disabilities, and students.
Hanoi Museum continues to enhance its exhibitions and improve its professional activities to meet visitors' demands and strengthen community engagement. Many exhibitions have been designed to offer a high level of interaction for visitors. Some have incorporated multimedia exhibition technology and 3D mapping to create an engaging experience, offering the public a completely new interactive display.
Moreover, the museum has modernized its communication strategies by leveraging social media platforms to promote its activities. On average, the Hanoi Museum receives nearly 12,000 visitors per month.
In addition, the museum strives to fulfill its role as a coordination center for the city's creative activities, emphasizing history education and revolutionary traditions for younger generations through extracurricular programs.
During his visit, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Le Hong Son acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the Hanoi Museum in 2024. He emphasized that 2025 presents both challenges and opportunities for the museum's growth and expressed his hopes that the institution will successfully accomplish its goals for the year.
Regarding upcoming tasks, Vice Chairman Le Hong Son directed the Hanoi Museum to continue collaborating with the city's civil construction project management board to execute professional content for the museum's exhibition project, aiming to open its doors to visitors by October 2025. He also urged the museum to partner with organizations and individuals to host ticketed exhibitions and increase the application of technology in displays.
Vice Chairman Le Hong Son further requested Hanoi Museum implement the public asset exploitation project to enhance revenue sources. He encouraged collaboration with organizations, individuals, and artists to organize creative activities at the museum. Additionally, he called for tourism promotion efforts, cooperation with domestic and international travel agencies, and the development of guided tours and travel routes to make the Hanoi Museum a key destination for visitors.
