Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth stated that 2025 is expected to be a year marked by many important milestones, especially the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany.

On this occasion, the German Embassy will organize many activities, notably the German Festival, expected to take place from October 17 to 19 at the pedestrian zone around Hoan Kiem Lake and surrounding areas. The festival will focus on showcasing the achievements of development cooperation between the two countries.

In addition to booths introducing culture and cuisine, the festival will also feature musical performances and activities for youth and teenagers. Artist Thomas Anders, former member of the band Modern Talking, will perform on October 25 in Hanoi.

Another noteworthy project launched on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries is the Career Orientation Bus with the mission of "Bringing millions of dreams" on a cross-Vietnam journey throughout 2025.

The Career Orientation Bus provides the Vietnamese public with information about career and training opportunities in Germany, safe and legal pathways to study and work in Germany, preparatory programs on language and culture, as well as vocational and higher education programs in Vietnam according to German standards.

The Career Orientation Bus departed from Hanoi and is traveling through 20 provinces and cities nationwide. The goal of the project is to strengthen bilateral cooperation in labor migration and expand access to international labor markets for young people in Vietnam.

Ambassador Barth hopes that the Hanoi city government will facilitate the successful and effective organization of activities celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany.

Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh welcomed the proposal of the German Embassy in Vietnam and affirmed that the city is always ready to support and assist the Embassy's activities in the locality, especially the events marking the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Regarding the German Festival expected to take place from October 17 to 19, the Hanoi People's Committee has issued a directive assigning the Department of Culture and Sports to coordinate with relevant agencies to guide the German Embassy in Vietnam through the necessary procedures in accordance with regulations to ensure the success of the event.

On this occasion, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh expressed his desire to continue close cooperation with German localities in promoting investment and trade, connecting the business communities of both sides, enhancing the promotion of cooperation opportunities and potential, and supporting enterprises wishing to seek cooperation and business investment opportunities.

The city also proposed that the Federal Republic of Germany consider supporting small and medium enterprises in Hanoi, which can take advantage of the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) to access the European and German markets and boost exports of Hanoi's key products such as agricultural goods, textiles, and footwear.

In addition, tourism is also a sector with great potential for both sides and should be expanded and promoted in the near future. Based on the strong foundation of cooperation between the two countries, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh believes that during her term, Ambassador Helga Margarete Barth will promote bilateral cooperation to achieve new results in the coming time.
