The meeting focused on leadership and direction for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term, as well as preparations for the 2026 Lunar New Year, the Year of the Horse.

Reporting to the working group, leaders of Thanh Xuan, Phuong Liet and Khuong Dinh wards said they had proactively and rigorously implemented the legal framework in line with directives from the central authorities and the city.
Each ward had consolidated its Ward-level Election Steering Committee, chaired by the Party Secretary, issued guiding documents and strengthened communication and outreach to key officials, Party members and residents through various channels.

At the same time, organizational work has been carried out methodically, with proper composition and in line with statutory timelines. The three wards established Ward Election Committees with 17 members each and adopted operating regulations, along with three subcommittees and one support team. Phuong Liet Ward designated seven constituencies to elect 22 ward People’s Council deputies for the 2026–2031 term.
Thanh Xuan Ward designated nine constituencies to elect 29 deputies, while Khuong Dinh Ward designated eight constituencies to elect 26 deputies.
The wards issued decisions to establish Election Boards in each constituency and completed the first round of voter consultation meetings. As of January 26, 2026, they had largely received candidate dossiers as planned.
Thanh Xuan and Phuong Liet wards plan to organize 35 polling stations, while Khuong Dinh Ward plans 28. As of January 26, 2026, no petitions, complaints or denunciations related to the election had been recorded in Thanh Xuan, Phuong Liet or Khuong Dinh wards.

After hearing reports and comments from working group members, concluding the session, Head of the Hanoi Party Committee's Inspection Commission Do Anh Tuan emphasized that the coming period is a critical phase with many important tasks, requiring close coordination, urgency and a high degree of precision, including several key items tied to specific timelines.
He also called for continued communication efforts, ensured public security and order and the timely handling of complaints, denunciations and issues arising during election implementation.
To ensure a democratic, lawful, safe, economical, and successful election, he urged ward Party Committees to proactively issue timely guidance and directives on key tasks. In particular, Ward Election Committees and Fatherland Front Committees were reminded to strictly observe the deadline for the third voter consultation conference, set for no later than February 13, 2026.
The wards were asked to continue close coordination with city departments, agencies, and the Hanoi Vietnam Fatherland Front in carrying out election-related tasks, including promoting digital transformation and the application of information technology in the election process.
They were also instructed to ensure political security, social order, and traffic safety throughout the election period, while promptly handling election-related complaints and denunciations in accordance with the law.
They were also requested to closely monitor developments, synthesize information and promptly address emerging issues in the election process, while proposing specific solutions to resolve difficulties encountered by the wards.
Regarding preparations for the 2026 Lunar New Year, Tuan requested wards to implement assigned tasks in accordance with approved plans, with a focus on social security and Tet care for policy beneficiaries and disadvantaged groups.
He also emphasized maintaining security and social order, fire and explosion prevention, strengthening market management, ensuring adequate supplies of essential goods, food safety, and enhancing urban management and environmental sanitation to create a clean and pleasant cityscape.
