Welcoming the Ambassador, Chairman Vu Dai Thang noted that 2026 will mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, a major milestone to be celebrated through a wide range of cultural and exchange activities.

He emphasized that the bilateral relationship has grown strongly toward a comprehensive strategic partnership, reflecting a shared commitment to deeper cooperation across many fields and to strengthening long-standing friendship both bilaterally and within the region.
Thanking the Chairman for his remarks, Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya expressed her appreciation for the Hanoi authorities' active support of the Thai Embassy's activities in recent years.
Agreeing that 2026 will be a particularly important year in the history of bilateral relations, she said the Thai Embassy will coordinate with various partners to organize anniversary events. In addition, the Thai Government plans to continue hosting the Thailand Festival this year at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel.
The Ambassador therefore hoped that Hanoi's authorities would continue to facilitate and support these activities to ensure their success.
She said many Thai enterprises are operating across Vietnam with their headquarters in Hanoi, and that more Thai companies are expected to explore business and investment opportunities in the capital in the coming period, expressing hope that the Hanoi government will continue to provide support and favorable conditions for Thai businesses.
Sharing her positive impressions of Hanoi's rapid development and its ongoing efforts to improve social welfare, Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya said she believes the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam will be a historic event, creating new momentum for national development and for the Vietnamese people.
She reaffirmed that Thailand stands ready to continue close cooperation with Vietnam and with Hanoi on the country's development path.

Thanking the Ambassador for her views, Chairman Thang highlighted key achievements in cooperation between Vietnam and Thailand, as well as between Hanoi and Thai localities.
He stressed that although the two countries do not share a border, they enjoy a close, neighborly relationship and are increasingly connected through practical and wide-ranging cooperation.
Discussing economic cooperation, Chairman Thang highly valued the role and contributions of Thai enterprises to Hanoi's and Vietnam's development, and affirmed that the city will continue to provide the best possible support to these businesses.
He added that, as the capital and a national growth engine, Hanoi is striving to achieve among the highest growth rates in the country and is concentrating efforts on putting in place all necessary conditions to realize this goal.
According to the Chairman, Hanoi is prioritizing urban infrastructure development, expanding and diversifying public transport systems, and reducing high-emission vehicles as part of its sustainable development strategy.
In this context, Thang expressed his hope that Ambassador Urawadee Sriphiromya would serve as a bridge for Hanoi to further exchange and learn from urban development and management experience from Bangkok, while also helping connect relevant Thai partners to participate in the city's development process.
