The Office of the Hanoi People's Committee on July 18 issued Announcement No. 444/TB-VP on the conclusions of Deputy Chairman Nguyen Trong Dong reviewing the operation of machinery and equipment used to enhance the city's sanitation services.
Deputy Chairman Dong directed that the Hanoi Urban Environment Company Limited (URENCO) and Thien Y Environment Joint Stock Company (Thien Y) must maintain daily sanitation in Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, Ba Dinh, Ngoc Ha, Giang Vo, Dong Da, Lang, O Cho Dua, Kim Lien, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, Hai Ba Trung, Bach Mai, and Vinh Tuy wards.
The two companies must ensure their work allocation be clear, specific, and avoid overlap or neglect of duties.
Both companies are required to fully prepare vehicles, equipment, and personnel to implement sanitation work effectively and in line with the directives of the city government. The goal is to ensure synchronized and efficient operations, with all preparations completed before August 10, 2025.
URENCO has been tasked with urgently replacing all old garbage bins in the above-mentioned wards with new ones that meet the required standards. These new bins must be appropriately sized, aesthetically pleasing, and convenient for waste collection.
The Hanoi Department of Agriculture and Environment will lead efforts to inspect and supervise the implementation process.
It will work with URENCO, Thien Y, and the relevant ward-level authorities to determine appropriate locations for compact garbage transfer stations and to propose sites for installing charging stations and parking areas for electric sanitation vehicles and equipment.
The Hanoi Department of Construction will instruct the Hanoi Clean Water Company Limited to identify water supply points for street-spraying and mist-spraying vehicles.
The department will also coordinate with relevant agencies to review and facilitate permits for environmental sanitation vehicles to cross Chuong Duong Bridge.
Ward-level People's Committees of Hoan Kiem, Cua Nam, Ba Dinh, Ngoc Ha, Giang Vo, Dong Da, Lang, O Cho Dua, Kim Lien, Van Mieu – Quoc Tu Giam, Hai Ba Trung, Bach Mai, and Vinh Tuy must actively cooperate with relevant departments and sanitation units to implement these directives.
They are also required to strengthen inspections and enforce urban order regulations to ensure favorable conditions for the operation of specialized sanitation vehicles.
