The pilot will run from September 20 to 30 in cooperation with several banks, applying these technologies at all 12 stations with a total of 65 ticket gates.

Passengers experience identity verification technology when traveling by train, with one-tap payment using bank cards and electronic ticketing apps.
The trial integrates multiple advanced solutions, including ID card recognition, electronic tickets through the Hanoi Metro app, paper tickets, and international VISA payment cards.
Participants include passengers over 60 years old, who are eligible for free fares under the policy of the Hanoi People’s Council, and regular passengers using single-ride or daily tickets.

The program is implemented at 12 stations with 65 ticket gates, simultaneously piloting multiple advanced technologies.
During the pilot, passengers are guided through the steps at the gates, experience new technology solutions, and pay fares under the non-cash ticket pricing schedule.
A Hanoi Metro representative said the trial is designed to gather passenger feedback, which will be used to improve and refine the system.
The goal is to provide passengers with safer, more convenient, and eco-friendly travel experiences while gradually applying modern technology to enhance services and utilities.
