The traffic police officers participate in the campaign.
The Hanoi Youth Union on January 21 launched a campaign to maintain public security and traffic safety during the Lunar New Year (Tet) and the Spring Festivals of 2025.
The activity is part of a coordinated plan signed by the Hanoi Youth Union, the Hanoi Police Department, and the Hanoi Traffic Safety Committee to raise awareness among youth about adhering to traffic laws, minimizing accidents related to alcohol, drugs, and stimulants, and reducing congestions.
In 2025, the participating organizations will intensify educational efforts on social media and via their Youth Union channels. Key activities include organizing safe driving competitions and encouraging young people to pledge not to engage in reckless driving, street racing, or inciting public disturbances. They will also advocate against using stimulants while operating vehicles.
The Hanoi Youth Union has formed 15 "Green Traffic Teams" across the capital, comprising 225 Youth Union members, said Nguyen Duc Tien, Standing Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Youth Union cum Chairman of the Hanoi Vietnam Youth Federation.
The union has also teamed up with the Vietnam Offroad Pickup Trucks Club to develop emergency response teams to deal with rescue and recovery operations on road and waterway, he said.
These teams have been involved in voluntary rescue and support activities to ensure public security and traffic safety, Tien noted.
Immediately following the launch ceremony, traffic police, public order officers, emergency response teams, and the Green Traffic Teams began their duties with high determination to ensure security and traffic safety across the city, particularly during the Lunar New Year period.
